No.

you saying that for real? or just because zz top's been around forever and their "one of those bands" thats just cool to see and say you saw.

i grew up listening to stuff from that era. i've seen zz once before and they are a nostalgia act. nothing more. please enlighten me as to why anyone would pay that kind of money to see that?

Because some people are insanely devoted. Nostalgia has a little bit to do with it, but that doesn't explain why people will pay upwards of a hundred dollars to see Nickelback or some band like that. I would never pay more than 50 bucks to see a band live, unless John Lennon and George Harrison rose from the dead.

yeah, i can see that. but at least nickelback has SOME reason for high prices. they have a huge show, the places they play usually sell out (without the high prices they'd sell out faster) and they are still making music. ZZ Top did nothing but "sound good" from what i've gathered. idk.. it just kind of pissed me off that they could get away with charging that much. i like them quite a bit, it just proves what they're in it for.

Haha. Not as bad as the $250 AC/DC tickets we have here in Toronto. And the amazing thing is, they all sold out. Simply because Toronto is the only stop on the Black Ice tour for all of eastern Canada, they can get away with insane ticket prices because we actually got people coming in from Ottawa, Montreal, etc.

Of course, I would be willing to pay quite a bit for AC/DC, not $250, but if they were up to 100-ish dollars, I'd consider. $110 for ZZ Top? No way in hell.

I paid over a hundred for The Police reunion. And I'd do it again.

I did and would do the same thing.

$110 isn't an unheard of amount for a band like ZZ Top.

yeah, how much is it for the likes of Dave Matthews? Fucking ridiculous.

Not really...depends on your seating as well though. If it was upper level, nose bleed seats then yeah, I think that might be a tad bit ridiculous. But I just paid about 420 bucks to see The Eagles with my dad. So I really shouldn't speak. But only because it's a thank you present, and I know how much he loves them, as well as me. I worked my ass off for it though...

I share this same opinion with you, yet I paid 60 bucks to see Nine Inch Nails two months ago. The only reason I found it to be worth it is because I am extremely devoted to Trent Reznor/NIN and have been for quite some time. They played songs all across the board from their discography, and I sang along to every word. Well worth every penny to me.

Yeah, because it's totally the same experience, and definitely supports the artist.

i paid $190 for the stones. but they're the STONES! thats like rock legends. even ac/dc is getting in the legend category. i just think it's lame classic rock bands can get away with what they do.

but i guess if people are willing to pay it...
