As a lifelong UT fan raised in Knoxville and going to games since I can remember, I am proud to say that this was all in due time and speaking for the majority of students here at UT, most will agree that this is the best move for our program. Thoughts?

I completly agree with you man. His years of service did 3 times much good than bad, and im sure his legacy will always be remmebered but his time has come and i have high hopes for UTs future HC. Can't wait to see what happens. GO VOLS!

It deserved a thread of its own, not just a post.
But thanks anyway Preppy for teaching me how AP works!

Uh...no, it didn't. Texas Tech beating Texas is a more important story within the sport than a once great coach resigning because his team now blows and he's had his fill. But you're welcome anyway!

And whats interesting...there were more posts in the NCAA thread about it than in your thread (which is now 1/2 posts about how this didn't need a thread). There were already posts on replacement coaches before this thread was made

breaking news: Vince Lombardi is considering coming back from the dead to coach the Vols.

I think we just made the same joke at the same time in different threads.

why don't you let the fans of a team/interest of people decide whats important for it's own thread rather than your opinions oh god of the absolutepunk.net sports forum.

it was time for him to go. but it's still sad. i grew up with him and that press conference was a struggle to get thru at points. just a sad thing that i don't think people from up north/people not from the sec area would really understand.

They did...as several members were talking about it ALREADY in the NCAA thread, it makes no sense to split a conversation over two threads. The only time we do that is the NFL threads, and that is because gameday threads get 500+ posts and it makes posting general NFL impossible on a Sunday. It's not me being God, its what the forum and its moderator and rules have generally dictated...

But, go fuck yourself just for fun

edit: And for note, I like Phillip Fulmer, I thought he was a great coach who is clearly just burned out on it. I hated watching him be frustrated with a bad team, and hope they find a good replacement...which is being discussed in the NCAA thread

Well I really appreciate it, Dad! Good luck attempting to boost that post count while I try to go have intercourse with females.
