what are some really shitty bands everyone should stay away from...for me id pick HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS and a band who rips them off bad ONSET OF EFFECT. wow stay away from both these shit piles. try and leave links to unknown band pages so we can listen to the shittiness...

OK, I totally understand your point, and I respect your opinion, but posts like this are what cause stupid-ass arguments on this site and just perpetuate fucking ignorance. We're all on this site for the same reason, a love of music, most of which is considered to be in the same "genre", so, in my completely honest opinion, it's stupid to ask people "the shittiest band ever" when it's just going to cause tension and arguments, neither of which is needed at all.

it just seems to me youre ragging on these bands simply for the fact taht ppl here like them. i perosnally like the bands you just named as well as the bands in your signature. i like to have a wide tatse of music. i think you do somewhat, but criticising those bands and saying they suck simply because people dont like them is just not right. the members of all those bands are hardworkers and talented musicians and they deserve a chance and i somewhat doubt youve given them much of a chance. did you ever think that their music may appeal to other ppl, and not you, but does that make them a shitty band? shitty bands play music for money and sex and drugs. these guys dont. theyre getting very little of all those things theyre out their working their asses off while you sit here and criticise them for doing so. and i'm sorry but to me that's just not right. give them a chance, adn if you still don't like them, don't call them shitty for no reason beause you have no reason to do so.

Wrong...... Playing for money, sex, and drugs doesn't make you a shitty band, playing shitty music makes you a shitty band. I've given those bands a chance, and I've come to the conclusion that they are shitty, but hey, to each his own. I still love you.

HAHA, Green Day is far better than almost any band in your profile. Most likely Green Day is better than them all with the exception of Every Time I Die.
Do us all a favor and check out some of the OLDER stuff(before Nimrod and American Idiot). Or maybe you didn't know that they made albums before American Idiot.

Yes, you taught me a lesson. I forgot you were only person here who listens to Mogwai, Miles Davis, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkle, Sigur Ros, The Promis Ring, Engine Down, Owen, Brandston, Death Cab for Cutie, Appleseed Cast, Explosions in the Sky.

I was being a sarcastic ass hole to that kid because he's hating on Green Day because they are popular now. At least that's how it appears. He's trying to be an elitist, but he's just like everyone else. I seriously doubt that kid has ever given Dookie or Kerplunk a serious listen. He's too young to understand what kind of an impact records like those had on alot of us here.

So go on, keep teaching us "lessons"

That's true, but you can't tell me there's no such thing as bad music. It's not that your music is bad, it's just that its targeted towards kids. When I'm listening to Straylight run I can't keep myself from imagining that it's a new Kids Bop album.

I wasn't offended by your Straylight comment, I don't think it's targeted towards kids. But I would definetly say that it is made to appeal to high school/collge students. And as for checking out new music, I don't know about other people but I will probally check out some of the bands you have listed as favorites just to hear something new. I mean we both like a few of the same bands so there's no reason to think I won't like some others if I give it try.

I don't like Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, Senses Fail, or pretty much any hardcore/screamo/metalcore/post-hardcore/emo/indie band either. I'm not insulting them. They're just not my thing.

Ive been the biggest green day fan since i was like 10 and i have to say that everything they have done so far is amazing. warning and especially American Idiot included. Music wise the new record is such a gutsy release for them..and they completely pulled it off. And Nimrod is SO good. Nimrod is probably the album that properly describes the Green Day sound.

but to further this thread, i dont like in the least:

Finch, Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance (new album, yeck), Matchbook Romance, Saves The Day, Simple Plan....thats it sofar :)

I don't think it did. Good Charlotte's self titled album is one of pop punk's best whether you want to admit it or not. Simple Plan's music is good enough to be loved by millions so you're wrong on that one too. Sure, I don't like most of the new GC and a few tracks on SP releases, but they aren't the shittiest around.

They are really shitty yes, but the worst by far is Linkin Park.
Even Jay-Z couldn't make them good.
