Daphne Loves Derby (http://www.daphnelovesderby.com) have hit two million plays on pureVOLUME.com (www.purevolume.com/daphnelovesderby).

i saw that anberlin got that 1 million and i was like...man, DLD had like a couple thousand away like a week ago, and i checked it out...then went to submit it here, and it was posted

my band played with daphne loves derby at a fueled by ramen/oc sound/burnt toast promotions show at huntington beach high school last month.

does that make us, like, brothers?

totally agreed.
the thing is they have like 18 songs on their pv page so they get these plays a lot quicker than bands with say 2, 3, or 4 songs on their pv page. so whats more respectable, Underoath getting over a million with only 4 songs, or DLD getting 2 million with like 18 songs? and i dont even have anything against DLD, they're a solid band. but its just not that special when you have that many songs.

Add to this, the fact that PV allowed users to click songs multiple times and the plays would increase an infinte number of times, just as many times as you click it. Now at least PV only lets each user play one song, once each day, an dit only gets on play on the counter.

ps. word on the street in the 206/425 is that there was some sort of program hoked up that got DLD a lot of plays and into the top 10.... thats just word on the street.... or should i say word at shari's?

I doubt that. They got so many plays because they have a bunch of songs.

DLD didn't get a PV until way after the site had been up. yes, them having a lot of songs up correlates with their hits... but a lot of it has to do with good timing. cheating on purevolume? ridiculous. people thought the same thing about brodie a couple years back on mp3.com when they had the most hits. perhaps maybe... just maybe, people actually really enjoy their songs.

for some reason i just dont buy it, im not seeing where all their fans come from......i dont think i know one kid that has ever even heard of daphne loves derby and with 2 million plays on purevolume word of mouth is bound to start taking place.... i dont know it just seems fishy to me. they are overrated anyway.....sound like every other band

there is no doubt in my mind that daphne deserves it. they are great guys with an amazing live show.

overrated??.....id have to disagree. i can agree with the fact that they sound like tons of other bands out there.....but you can say that about any band.

hopefully the new stuff will sound "original"....then people wont have an excuse to dislike them

i was about to write the exact same shit. and underoath has 2 million plays now, with the 4 songs.
