okay i got an ipod for my birthday today, but it's not downloading any music yet, so do i absolutely have to have it fully charged for it to start working or is my ipod fucked already?

you dont need it to be fully charged, i plugged it in when it prompted me too when installing, works fine

it keeps telling me it can't find files or something, i did the whole installation bit and i don't see how i could have fucked that up..........you think the ipods fucked?

it was the ipod, i went and exchanged it, new one works fine

Is it just me..., or does the iPod Shuffle sound like the dumbest quick-money-making idea ever? Is it *that* hard to just press the 'mode' button twice..., on like..., every discman ever made? LOL.

That's just the name they gave it. It's actually just like a normal mp3 player. it doesn't HAVE to shuffle.

Right, but isn't it also that you don't get an LCD screen or *anything,* what kind of MP3 player is that? You know? Not knowing what track I'm on, (or at least being able to see it), would drive me insane, don't really know why, but it would.
