Looking Older

Im 16, 5'2, and am always being mistaken for being 13, 12 and even 11. I really hate how im constantly being seen as younger than i actually am, and hate it even more when people say that ill be happy about this when im older. So yeah, any ideas to look older? And no not anal.

Correct make up, clothes...try to make yourself look more professional then a 13 year old would. If not, anal.

I have the opposite of your problem. I always get mistaken as 21 or so years old. Which is totally cool now, cause it lets me get into places that require ID and such, but when I'm 40 and I look 50, not so cool.
I always hear that when you try to dress and act a different age, you usually get the opposite effect, so maybe you should try less? I don't know, that advice kinda sucks haha.

just don't go overboard with it. don't make it seem like you're trying to look older. to reach my peak of cheasiness: treat it like an art form. honestly, makeup can be ridiculously dramatic but when applied aesthetically, it won't make you look like a whore. i wear bright blue eyeliner all the time and i get complimented on it by everyone instead of people giving me "wtf is wrong with her" looks. what color are your eyes?

also, consider growing your hair out a little more. for some people, short hair makes them look younger. i'm one of the random ones who looks older with short hair.

hm..okay try getting the almay eyeshadow for green eyes and use the purple in the inside corners of your eyes. then take a tanish brown and just just like a blush brush to put that all over the rest of your eyelid. and mascara of course. it should come out cute.

I'm 5'2" as well but people tend to assume I'm a few years older. It's just kind of hard to judge around this age. Carry yourself in a mature fashion, be confident and dress your age. A little makeup is good but don't go overboard.

Just try to look put-together and polished I guess. Wear subtle and natural make-up -- going overboard and caking on make-up will have the opposite effect. Walk with your head up and shoulders back. These things generally give an air of maturity, so if you really want to look older...but honestly, I think you should just be yourself.

Based on your picture I'd say people are somewhat justified in assuming your age to be low. You need to dress more feminine and style your hair in a more professional way. It seems you just kind of let your hair go at least in that picture anyway. So it gives off the kiddish look.

Dear readers of absolutepunk.net, I am a 20 year old male but apparently look 65+ years old with thin, wispy gray hair, liver spots, bad posture and the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease. Literally everyone mistakes me for a senior citizen. I ride buses, subways and trolleys for free. Even my pharmacist slips up and asks me for my Medicare card every single time I pick up my prescriptions! Any tips on how I may be able to look younger? I used to get a lot of action back in grade school, but mainly just watch a lot of porno now. If you have any tips or tricks, help a guy out!

I really hope someone out there can help me. I'm really at the end of my rope here.

Yeah, I'm 15 and 5'1" and I'll admit I don't act my age. However, a lot of people, even before they really get to see how I act, they think I'm so much younger. That stopped happening as frequently as it used to when I started wearing eyeliner.

I suggest wear good make-up, it has to be right for your face certain make-up doesn't look good on everyone, and haircut find something to match the shape of your face.

Clothes are huge, and get heels or boots with small heels. I feel like I don't look particularly old all the time, I am 5'4 approximately, but I have this guy friend who is 6'2 and looks really old, so whenever I'm out with him it's not a problem.
SO the moral of the story is, find taller, older looking friends? ahaha I give bad advice.
