Haha, nice nice. Do you have a band? I'd like to listen sometime if you do.

Anyway, he is awesome. Avail of course were great, and his solo stuff is super too.

Avail frontman Tim Barry recently announced tour plans for the new year. In February he'll hit the road in the United States with Suburban Home singer / songwriters Austin Lucas and Josh Small. Dates have not yet been announced, but the tour will run through April. Lucas and Small will each play their own sets, then collaborate with Barry during his.

Tim Barry has finished writing for his next record. The album will follow 2008's Manchester and recording is scheduled for mid-May at the Minimum Wage recording studio. Tim had this to say:

I’ve not taken this cold ass winter sitting down. I finished writing a record during the month of January. I wrote most of the songs in the duration of three weeks, but also revised some older one’s that I had on the “back burner”. So I’m excited to get back in the studio with Lance over at Minimum Wage in mid - May. If all goes as planned I’ll have a new record out well before the end of the year.
Barry is on the road now.

this isn't common knowledge, but Tim was diagnosed with Diabetes. He has lost some of his vision and when he was in the hospital, they told him that had he come any later, he could have died. Tim is taking precautions on this tour and in his life to deal with this newfound condition, but as most of you have noticed, it is taking its toll on Tim's body. Tim is an amazing person and has used this news to drive him to continue to do great things and do it with all his heart.

Wow. Didn't know that.

I was standing on stage and I was saying that I wrote this song ("Wait at Milano") with my buddy Travis in mind because he is chronically depressed and I wrote it for him before he passed away and never told him it was about him. And I was quickly explaining that this song is about now and living lightly and more kindly in ways that perpetuate good so that there are things left for the people coming after us and as I’m trying to explain this the fucking guy just keeps heckling me brutally, so I invite him onstage. I said no one can hear you so I gave him a microphone. So I said now that you have had your say I’m going to explain to you again what this song is about. So I repeated my words “My best friend Travis killed himself” and he replied “well he doesn’t sound like much of a friend” and I just beat the living shit out of him on stage. And I am not at all proud of that because I tried deeply not to be the person I used to be because I used to fight a lot. It’s not healthy. I just snapped you know. I still don’t know what he meant. But he certainly couldn’t envision what was going through my head when he said that."
