Is it just me or does it seem like all the popular indie sorta kinda rock bands on tv like The Killers, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and the Bravery seem like 80s new wave sorta bands?

haha, this is true

I blame The Faint (or if you wanna be more recent and appliable, Franz Ferdinand brought the hailstorm)

franz ferdinand's success helped the killers, which in turn helped the bravery. i wonder who's next.

i'm waiting for moving units to blow up. they deserve it, they're better than all three of the aforementioned bands

Moving Units is one of those "to check out" bands. If it has the Paul Tao stamp of approval, I'm on it though (sorry if I sound patronizing, I'm being serious).

I'm thinking it's gonna be a little heavier "dancy" band that makes it big next. Somebody like an LCD Soundsystem.

yeah, i saw LCD soundsystem on MTV2 the other day (that Subterranean show actually kicks ass, I have to give MTV a lot of props for that). maybe they'll get big.

yeah, if you check out moving units, my favorite song is "Anyone". i can send it to you if you want

I love these kind of bands. They are kind of 80s but then again the 90s ripped off the 70s and the 80s ripped off the 60s.

Wow, I never knew they were already on MTV. That's pretty impressive.

Yeah definitely, if you wanted to send me the whole album i'll be down for that too.

Yeah I can't wait until 80s hair metal comes back and we have all these new bands trying to sound exactly like Motley Crue and Poison. That'll be great.

I know you were sarcastic, but honestly, "fashioncore" isn't far from hair metal by any stretch.

just MTV2's "Subterranean". It's this show that only runs on MTV2 really late at night. I've seen The Decemberists, LCD Soundsystem, Spoon, Saul Williams, M83 on there, and a lot more I can't remember righ tnow

With the success the Darkness had I'm surpised it didn't happen.

Oh yeah I forgot about them. What happened to them, did they just run out of steam after I Believe In A Thing Called Love?
