It really doesn't apply to every post-punk band after JD. I would never accuse The Chameleons or Echo & the Bunnymen to be Joy Divison rip-offs.

EDIT: I've never actually heard the supposed band in question, just making an observation.

Because Blessure Grave has an album entitled "Unknown Blessures"

But really, I know that every modern post-punk band sounds like JD, yadda yadda yadda, but I just get the vibe out of BG more than any other band, I don't really need anymore shitty Ian Curtis inspired vocalizing.

Oh, well maybe they should apologize for wearing their inspiration on their sleeve. If you don't need anymore shitty Ian Curtis inspired vocalizing you probably shouldn't listen to post-punk.

A lot of early No Wave, Industrial and Punk spilled over into Post-Punk. You could throw in Industrial acts like Minimal Man or New Wave/Rave acts like Fad Gadget in or Synthpunk stuff like Nervous Gender. It's hard to have a unified, rigid criteria for inclusion here. DNA's good stuff.

Maybe more minimal, but that's not entirely uncommon in the genre. They're definitely Post-Punk.

The only inclusion that seems a bit suspect is Television. If anything, they're more of a Prog band dressed up in a Punk aesthetic/from New York. That isn't an insult in the slightest, as I love Television.

Pere Ubu were great, have you checked out The Modern Dance? That's my favourite of theirs.

But aye, I Love a bit of post punk, The Chameleons, Joy Division, early Cure, Mission of Burma, The Fall, Wire, Gang of Four, Bauhaus, The Birthday Party, For Against, Interpol, Liars, Have a Nice Life, Les Savy Fav etc.

Any of you guys checked out a new album by Iceage called New Brigade? They're not doing anything new or that, but it's a good little ode to early post punk.
