finish undergrad then grad school.
then after a bazillion (or 6) years of school, I will teach 7 year olds how to add and subtract (: or teach them how to speak english after moving here from mexico/spain. (elementary/ESL teacher)
Get into an Ivy League college, move to England, record an album in the vein of old John Mayer, Damien Rice, etc., have 2-3 kids, become a doctor/forensic scientist.

I don't really venture outside of the Personal Life forum, and this is more life-oriented, not so much about school..
But, I hope to finish school on time with a Bachelor's degree in Arts Management and a minor in Music, move on to a career in the music business, fall in love, marry, be happy, and stay close to my best friend of already about 14 years.

I don't ever want to loose my passion for life, or dance. I want to maybe be a dance choreographer, or maybe a motion graphics artist. I want to try new things, I want to live the rest of my life with someone who loves me, I want to inspire people, I want to help other kids achieve their dreams and goals. But most of all, I want to just make people smile and laugh. I want to make them excited for life and love and everything else in life they should be happy about.
Wow, do I sound like a flipping hippie or what, haha.

I want to be a Comic book artist/writer
I have no problem with not making alot of money out of a job, its more knowing im happy and proving to myself I can create and tell a story that others will love.
I want to be able to make characters where I make so much detail up about them that I have full family tree's where I know each and every personality and background of every person in that tree but only the main character has a story written about them.
May sound weird but I love the idea of making a world where there is sooo much detail but only I really know everything about it. I guess you could say its kind of a god complex but I feel its important and would actually show in the story with how much was actually put into it.
and of course I love drawing and making these characters come to life and be appreciated by more people then just me, so that one day I know someone would of read it, enjoyed it and recommended it to someone else.
There would be no bigger compliment that I could think of...

I want to make music. I don't care if its hugely successful or not. I just want to play and have someone hear and it mean something. I just want to do something I love doing, rather than something that makes me look at the clock and wait for home time.
I'd also like to live near my mum for a while at least.
And get a degree or be learned in something. Something like music/sound production. I need to do more than what i'm doing now.

all i want from my career is to be able to do music for a living, and nothing else. to be able to get out on the road and play music for people, see places ive wouldn't have been able to see otherwise & meet people who i never may have meet.
i currently front a metal band & write my own music on the side. id be happy doing either one of those, even both.
i don't need to be selling out theaters. i don't need thousands of kids hanging on to my every word. i don't need a big, fancy tour bus. although all those things would be amazing, all i really need from life is to be able to tour.
im well aware that touring isn't easy & making it as a musician is harder then ever, but this has been my dream long before the iPod & digital music. i am determined. i practice every day, every waking second that i get.
and if i never do get to tour for a living and see the world, ill at least know never be able to ask " what if ? " because ill know i gave it my all.
awesome thread, can't wait to read some more of other peoples aspirations & dreams.

yeah, actually a couple of years ago i bought a 13 acre farm about 45 miles outside of Dallas and lived there for 8 months. it was extremely lonely (i didn't know anyone there) and i didn't quite realize the cost of starting up a farm. My commute was pretty brutal to get to and from an office job there (@ 2 hours each way because of traffic) so i packed it in and sold my farm and moved back to California, right before the mortgage bust (fabulous timing, eh?).

After my four years of teaching are done, if I think I have it in me, I'll leave the education profession in favor of being a writer. If not, I'll continue teaching while trying to be a writer. obviously if i felt we were outgrowing each other i'd let it end. my goal is to keep something like this as amazing as it is now. if it became anything less, that wouldn't be "achieving" my goal.

Other than that, I really want to be as active and involved in the Deaf community as possible. Sign language is my passion, and going to school to be able to help the Deaf / Hard of Hearing individuals in my area means more to me than anything.

Well, for starters, I want to be published in some way shape or form by the next year (when I will be 21). I want to definitely have my fair share of working with music--i want to work for a band (maybe tour managing?) and when I am older/finanically secure, I want to start a small record label. I want to marry and have kids once my life is settled and I've found the right person. I definitely do not want to die alone. And I want to also maybe run my own music-related store. I am very gifted at retail/business stuff. I also want to at least graduate from college by 25.

I'm an English major so I someday hope to publish poetry and a novel(s). I don't care if they're successful, I want to connect with people the same way i connect with my favorite authors.
I'm also interested in photography so I wish to travel aimlessly and carefree with someone, working crappy jobs in between to raise money to keep traveling. As a whole, I don't plan on making a ton of money, as long as I can maintain a decent standard of living.
I wonder what these wishes will look like 50 years from now haha.

After I finish this, I want to move to Berlin and find a job out there. I also want to write articles for magazines. But most of all, I REALLY want to write a book. It's probably my biggest goal. And maybe instead of moving to Berlin I'd like to move to Brussel or Strasbourg and work for the EU, but that's probably never going to happen.

Haha I wouldn't consider myself a professional by any means, I just enjoy reading and writing immensely. And I would actually be really stoked to read what you wrote!
And yes, I do write actually. I am working on a novel, but I barely have anytime to concentrate on it with all the school work I have. But, I also do write some poetry, although I write it mainly as lyrics to the music I write, so it comes off as really structured and based on a cadence, but I still consider it poetry.

lyrically catch for us the foxes for surpasses brother, sister and a-->b life in my eyes, but brother, sister is a lot more catchy and whimsical for me. it's easier to listen to if i'm just putting something on, but if i'm gonna go out of my way to listen to them i would much rather put on CFUTF. a-->b life is also a great album but not my favorite. =/
you can email it to me if you want, my email is nkalldayyy@aol.com
..the name has kind of stuck with me other the years, hahaha.
:)
No problem!
And I agree on Catch for us the Foxes, such a great album. I'd put Brother, Sister next, followed by A-->b life, but I still think A-->B life is really good.
And if you are still up within the next 10 minutes or so, I will type up just one little section of one chapter of mine and email it to you. I THINK i have a title for the book, which I will include, along with a general synopsis of what the book is about.

Indeed it is good sir. Such an amazing band.
How are they live, I haven't seen them yet.

I really want to see them live. Has "Drunk Like Bible Times" grown on you yet?

D&TH was really good live. They only had an eight-song setlist.. (Oh, No;Carl Solomon Blues; Paper Bag; I Just Do; I'm Not Crying...; Grace; and Saintly Rows) and since I'm a huge fan of theirs I had a blast. Definitely check them out if they get near to you.. They played my favorite track off of each CD (Paper Bag, which I actually selected for them to play over Sweet Talk :-), and Saintly Rows).. Good show, good dudes.

I'd really like to be apart of Hollywood someway. Not like live there and be a gay but just be apart of making the movies in one way or another. But before/along with that I'd like to get my graduate degree in film scoring. biggest obstacle right now is paying for it...

before actually playing ian, the singer, was talking with a roadie like 3 feet away from me saying it was between those two songs.. and i just said aloud that i thought they should do paper bag and how i was hoping they would.. so he did a bit of small talk with me, and they added it to their set list.

It is getting there, but I still think Small Steps Heavy Hooves is the better album. I haven't given Drunk Like Bible Times any play lately though, I have been on a huge Weezer kick the past couple days.

I love Drunk Like Bible Times.. I like both albums a lot, but Drunk.. has a lot more variety to it, and they covered all their bases and play it through pretty damn well.
