Mae (http://www.whatismae.com)'s new album The Everglow debuted at #51 on the Billboard (http://www.billboard.com) Hot 100. Other notable debut's were Beck (http://www.beck.com/)'s Guero at #2 and Theory Of A Deadman (http://www.theoryofadeadman.com/)'s Gasoline at #58.

Hey -

I'll explain these crazy numbers and charts.

The Everglow has sold over 18K records in its first week. It was ranked #51 on Billboards Top 200 Chart.

The building chart, which showed them at 22K/#37, was an estimate. The building chart receives some numbers from a few stores and they make a guess at what the sales totals are going to be based on those numbers. They are usually within 10% of actual sales.

Anyway, 18K albums is totally awesome. Let's spread the word to make sure they have a strong second week to follow that!

*Just a reminder. That almost all the limited edition copies have been sent out to retail stores and online sites. Meaning, pretty soon they are going to be harder to find. If you haven't picked up your copy yet, I recommend getting it soon!

I guess not enough people know about the greatness that is Mae. Hopefully they will catch on soon enough and this album will rocket in sales.

congrats to them.. its a stellar album.... def. wont be in my top 5 by the end of the year but still a decent release...

on a side note.. the mars volta was #46 in their 5th week.. hehe sorry i just like to piss slade off and get my scene points taken away ;)

Considering the quality of this cd, the number of sales should continue to rise. I like the first song on the cd....it kind of sounds like it would be from a disney animated film. hah. Its a great album and I cant wait to see them live!!

This is really weird and frustrating. The other day i had about 471 scene points and a scene power of 15. In a matter of hours, it dropped to negative 400 something.....i didnt even say anything to make anyone mad!!! :(

You shouldn't worry about scene points. Say what you want to say about anything and go about your business. You are entitled to your opinion just as everyone else around here. There isn't a chance in hell that everyone is gonna agree on everything and if people just start running around slapping negative scene points on every person or post that bags on one of their bands the whole system becomes pointless. Even if someone disagrees with my view of a band or topic and their post is well thought and considerate they aren't gonna get negative scene points from me.

I am pleading to the AP.net Gods to never post another thing about Theory of a Deadman. Seriously, everyone should ignore that band entirely and hope they just disappear.

Haha. I said like the same thing to someone about the whole scene points thing the other day.....i feel like such a hypocrite!! I guess its not that i lost points (i dont care, i promise :animateds ). Its the fact that someone took them away without me even saying anything...Scene points are pointless. I stand corrected. Sorry 'bout that.

Congrats to Mae on the great spot. Also, the new Beck is also worthy of that 2 spot, it's a great album too!
