im under the impression that this is the place where everyone one ups eachother and tries to prove who loves them or knows them the best so...
i saw hit the lights before they were called hit the lights... come to think of it, it was before any of them even knew how to play their instruments. they were all six or seven. so there, i win!!

This band is not good and not even that catchy. I don't understand how everyone bitchs about how music has turned down hill (which is true) and then goes and raves about this band(generic). The only reason majors are in to this band is cause scene kids are going crazy over them cause they are trendy and their ep is probably doing well for no label(cause scene kids are buying it), but in the end their music isn't good enough to go commercial.

actually fall out boy kinda copied off them but calling one of their song loose lips sink ships cause i have a self released demo from hit the lights and they have a song called that and the song is on the ep....anyway this band has way cool dudes...good stuff.

Just listen and you'll hear it.

Thats exactly what i was thinking....Fall Out Boy's singer has a much better voice. Theres no doubt about it that this band has talent. They just need to be a little less generic. Their band even looks kind of like FOB! Im not saying they suck....they just need to be a little more original. Other than that they have talent.

No. Nick Thompson (Guitar for Hit The Lights) recorded that song under the name New Year. The version you have has Nick singing on it.

i don't like HH but i do like matchbook romance and they do write some good stuff i think. so i guess fall out boy and the academy is...must suck too...dam to think of it...a lot of bands suck like straylight run too! so dam scene!

music is all opinion. what you like isn't the word of God. It's not the most amazing music either. I find academy is... not that great, but I'm not gonna tell people they are horrible scene people for listening to them. You're not better then them, I promise. ;)

so they sound like fallout boy. and falloutboy's sound is a rip off of some other band and they're a rip off of another before them. Every bands sound come from some other band. Fallout boy didnt just pluck their sound out of the air and they're not the only ones with that kind of music. Every bands influences comes from other bands they heard growing up, and no band denies it. so you can take that argument and put that label on any of your favorite bands as well, im sure.
Im not saying they dont sound like fallout boy but they're not out there blatantly trying to rip off their sound. they're playing music they write, they like, and what makes them happy. You should catch one of their live shows too. They're ep is great but their live shows are amazing. Their energy is contagious and if just for one night you'll become a fan. I promise.
so dont just be one of those little music nazi's and not like them "just because I never have" .. so if they ever go big you can say "i never liked them" .. and dont be mad at yourself when they become your guilty little pleasure either.
