I haven't bee able to do these in so long because I always have to go to work at 8 in the morning on Sunday's and then I come home, and go back to sleep and then wake up Monday moring. It sucks, but anyways - here is what I've been spinning -
Scraps & Heart Attacks - Still Sick : Ya so Travis has his new band This Is Hell but I broke this album out earlier today and can't stop listening to it. I love both bands dearly and make sure you check them out when they come to your town with Crime In Stereo. This is excellent hardcore.
At The Drive-In - Relationship Of Command : This is one album I will never get sick of. I could listen to this CD on repeat for hours, it's amazing. I'm almost pretty sure everyone here agrees me this band was a turning point in music, and has influenced many artists that you are hearing today.
Strongarm - The Advent Of A Miracle : Old old old Solid State band that features a few members of Further Seems Forever. They have long since broken up but I think they are one hell of a hardcore? band.
THE MARS VOLTA - Frances The Mute : Okay, I have a huge obsession with any thing Cedric and Omar are involved with. I couldn't stop obsessing over them I had to add a picture to my signature. This album, is incredible and original no one has any clue as to how big this album will be twenty years down the road. TMV are doing something no one else is, a honest and innovative group that can not be touched.
Ryan Adams - (Any and everything he writes) : ... is worthy of your listen, the guy can write and play music. He can sing about one hell of a heart break. So, uh, check him out.
That's all for me, I will try and do these more often. Sorry if you have heard of all of these bands, there is a good chance you have. But in that case I will list you a few bands that you should check out:
Lickgoldenysky (Insane screamo stuff)
1 Mile North (Beautiful post-rock/atmospheric type stuff)
65 Days Of Static (Beautiful post-rock/atmospheric stype stuff)
A Silver Mt. Zion (Same as above!)
A Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower (Insane spazz/exp. type punk rock=amazing)
The Decemberists (BEAUTIFUL INDIE ROCK!!!)
.. and I'm out.
