okay, I want to work at this hookah bar down town, and this guy that works there posts a bulletin via myspace and says "girls interested in a job":
"send me a message, it's from 8:30 -11 wednesday's only, you have to be 17 reply if interested"
and I reply "I might be interested, am I too late?"
and he says
"we have everybody hired
but were still looking for backups

but
unfortunately, we don't want to hire anyone with a boyfriend
just because we want our girls to be friendly and flirty, which a boyfriend might bitch about
so in order to avoid constant controversy, were just trying to avoid anyone with a boyfriend.
sorry =/"

I mean I get that your bf might get pissed, but like, are they allowed to just not hire me because I have a boyfriend?
idk seems like an issue between me and my bf really.

that's a little bit odd
nice enough i suppose because they want to avoid disagreements between you and your bf. but i agree, it's not entirely their business...or at all.

always wondered about shit like this. It's happened to my friends. Well, at any rate, you don't need to disclose to anyone at a bar (even if you are working) that you have a boyfriend...let them think what they want. And from your picture, you're cute enough to have guys come up to you anyways.

BUT, a more serious point in question, why the fuck is this guy advertising JOB positions on myspace...

sounds sketch as hell.

I can see like office relationships, and things like that getting the way. But not giving somebody an opportunity based upon some perceived "jealousy" coming from your boyfriend seems bullshit.

Plus, half the attractive bartender girls here in Madison, Wi are in very serious relationships. Doesn't seem to cause a problem here, and ...well...we're definitely a bar town. Just handle your relationship maturely and know what potential problems might arise, and deal with it from there.

hah thanks,

yeah, I guess they're advertising over myspace because like its just a tiny place, not like a big chain. I'm not sure.

But yeah I mean the job isn't like sexing random guys haha or things like that,
just be nice to people and get tables ready you know?
I don't see why I couldn't be in a relationship; if my bf is okay with it, it's more of a self decision.
I think.
