This one hurts bigtime. More than The Getup Kids, Hey Mercedes, and probably even Blink 182 because at least we got several albums from Blink and with their status they aren't going anywhere soon as individuals with new projects....this really sucks because these guys should have been bigger than Jesus.

I certainly hope to see more out of them in the future but it really hurts to hear this news.

I think that the brilliance that was "Is This Thing Loaded" and then to an even greater extent on "Pollyanna" makes this one so hard to stomach. After those albums you had to believe that these guys were gonna be something of an underground legendary band with a loyal cult following just on the cusp of making the bigtime.

I knew this was coming, last time i saw them play the crowd was small and uninspired so they called their set short. The band should have be 100 times more successful then they actually were.

Saddest band break up in the history of my life. But I guess this is how it ends. A new project would help to turn my frown upside down. Like some other people I still hadn't gotten the chance to see them live, the biggest regret of my life.

It certainly didnt translate into CD sales. That record underachieved given it's quality, and there must be a reason for it. The blame doesnt apply to only the label. Their booking agent deserves some shit too since their tours ( at least around here) were not advertised and were held at VERY small venues. When they did play larger venues, it was practically as an opening band (SR/Hot Rod tour). Maybe the blame goes to illegal downloading, since everyone seems to have an admiration for this CD that is rivaled by very few others, yet the sales fell short. For whatever reason, something went wrong with this band and Pollyanna, specifically. A solid fanbase doesnt seem to be the issue.
