Fan Reports In: "I just got back from the opening night of The Format (www.theformat.com) / Taking Back Sunday (www.takingbacksunday.com) / Jimmy Eat World (www.jimmyeatworld.com) tour and i must say that it was absolute sex. the format played a great 1/2 hour set. they played one new song called "janet" that was off the new snails e.p. they were sellin at their table for 5 dolla. taking back sunday was up next and they played for about an hour. they sounded great and also played 2 new songs. one was called "what's it like to be a ghost" and i did not catch the name of the other one so i'll just call it "boobies" for the time being. "what's it like..." sounded like something that would have been on where you want to be and "boobies" sounded angry. both songs drew and extremely positive reaction from the crowd and the guys looked like they had fun playin em. lastly, jimmy eat world came on and totally melted the place. they opened with a song from clarity which was a really really pleasant surprise. in fact, 4 of the first 6 songs were clarity songs. they played 5 songs from that album in all as well as 5 from bleed american, and 6 from futures. i wont put which songs because i don't wanna ruin it for anyone, but if you can't make the tour and are curious just im me. if this show comes near you, you should go. and if it doesn't, go anyway."

Ahh, you go to American? That school is so not a party school and Bender Arena isn't that cool either. Anyway, I hope the crowd is different from the last time I was there to see Dashboard and Brand New, everyone there were either teeny boppers or liberal intellectuals who walked and talked like their shit don't stink. Oh don't worry. I hate this place with a passion and am transferring my ass outta here as soon as possible (aka in the fall). Yes, our parties are horrible, the people here are assholes and elitists. But hey, I get a free ticket to JEW/TBS and free backstage.

ahh yea, i drove from Harrisonburg to see that Dashboard/Mxpx/Brand New show at American University...and yea i didnt like the crowd at all, only thing i liked was the General Admission part which i wish they had at JMU for the JEW/TBS/the format show...because i cant enjoy that shit sittin in a seat...and i would suck it up and go to the show at AU, buuut the Braves are in town to play the Nationals and im seein that...and this post is gettin long, so ill shut what we call the fuck up...

if JEW ever annouced a pre bleed american tour, i'd be there in a second. Don't get me wrong, i like bleed american and futures was a quality album, but i just love clarity and static prevails is solid too.
anyone have the setlist for jew and tbs yet?

Taking Back Sunday played waaaaaay to long at this show in my oppinion. The Format should've taken some of their playing time..Jimmy Eat World's set pwned though.

they played more than that on the numerous tours prior to and following Clarity

as many times as it takes for you to kill yourself.
also, i don't think 'How's It Feel To Be A Ghost' sounded like a WYWTB song at all. if you listen closely during the breakdown, the timing and bass line flow exactly with "we won't stand for hazy eyes anymore", and then it comes back in a stutter-beat later just like You Know How I Do. frankly, i think it gives all of the old school people hope that new new stuff will sound like old old stuff. and yes, the second song was very angry. angry enough that adam threw his mic stand into the security area and dove off the amps during it in Cincinnati. a very delicious show, i might add. i just hope they don't make a trend of opening shows with 180 By Summer because that was pretty much crap. starting a show like this:

i remember for sure that the first 4 were in that order, which is really dumb, and i'm almost positive the last 5 were in that order (the encore is definitely right). the rest of it could be in any order. this is less helpful for the JEW shows though b/c there's no way they will play this many songs. sorry about your luck. the Cincy show with MCS, Circa Survive, and Lucero pwn3d everyone.

the song 'boobies' was titled Error Operator
The formats set was way too short, and they played The First Single for the first time all tour last night in Toronto. it made my night
I was super pissed off that Taking Back Sunday didnt play Timberwolves At New Jersey though, cus thats my favourite song by them. I personally think their set dragged on a little too long, it all started to sound the same to me..I think it was just cus I was feeling sick though
