Punk Rock, Teenagers, and Emo
It's a wonderful book.
The guy's trying to get to the bottom of what Emo actually means.

best book ever... i love that book, i've read it like 6 times since it came out... he does a damn good job of explaining a whole community of people... but it's so much more than emo... i won't use the term emo now... it's not cool... and i don't mean that in the way that now i say scene, emo is anything it's like 4 years ago when everything rebellious was called being punk now doing something emotional is consided being emo, the book showed me that

I wish I had the money to buy that book. I read a little bit of it in the bookstore.

Very very very good book.

Andy Greenstein is his name I believe, he doesnt just try and get to the bottom of "emo". He goes into the culture of todays teens and the now punk music that they listen to and how this branch of punk first started.

Outstanding book by an outstanding author.

I was hoping this was going to be a discussion about how amazing The Promise Ring are. Now I'm disappointed. :(

In other news, I'm currently reading Nothing Feels Good. I would have preferred a more detailed history on 'emo', as the book is leaving out a huge influence in Husker Du (or maybe it mentions it later...I'm not finished with it yet). There's some things that just bug me, like talking to the guys that like Dashboard.
