What is the best season of the series?

I used to watch this show, but I'm not too familiar with the series as a whole.

I wanna get a dvd set for my friend's b-day but I don't know which season to get him.

Wow this is a realy old thread! i guess no one dare speak about B5? well i loved it! and still do! you can't compare it to modern sci fi like Battlestar Galactica, but back in the day it was awesome, and the story lines are excellent!!
