Now its not uncommon for bands to change names before acheiving success, Sunday Drive is one that comes to mind who became the Starting Line, or from my own past having been high school friends with a local band called A Summer's Disregard, who in a few years time would become Cartel. That scenerio is probably more common than not with most bands.

Now the "reunion" of a band thats more like revamping with some obvious changes, and obviously one recent obvious example is Smashing Pumpkins, and others would be like the Misfits when Graves fronted and all that drama, which while its not quite the same, or even at all, but legally and technically its the same band.

both of those are really friggin common, and its common for bands to have side projects, but the following doesnt really count, especially when its pretty much the same members of a band, but form a new band altogather, thus 'reincarnated' which over the past year having both ISHC and Foxboro Hot Tubs release stuff, yeah I guess it could fit into that catagory as well as when Green Day also played as The Network a few years back. But since those are humor driven they still arent like somthing like The Fire Theft who pretty much are Sunny Day Real Estate, and its really weird, especially when the source band is inactive like SDRE, and for that matter The Fire Theft apparently still record, but never tour. Another band that comes to mind, not as well known but is certainly a reincarnation is Gosling, who at one point was Loudermilk, who became another sad statistic in major label disapointments. Gosling is Loudermilk, but with the moniker change came some pretty big stylistic changes, as well. Both are pretty good, as far as loudermilk goes, they're kind of a combo of the pumpkins, early faith no more, gnr, and kill hannah hard rock stuff, as where Gosling goes off into more quirky indie, somewhat cabaret rock.

Firetheft and Gosling were pretty much the first ones that came to my mind that would tag as reincarnated, butI always like finding diffrent sides of good bands, and while usually that falls into the side project world, its cool hearing a band's pre-existing band if there in fact is one. So start throwing some other names out there, or if you cant think of any throw out some decent side projects.

oh and if any Cartel fans out there that are interested in the Summer's Disregard stuff, my little bro still has some old stuff of theirs, i think Will gave him a cd w/a bunch of demo's like 6 years ago, as well as 3 song EP, so if that stuff is nowhere to be found online, which probably is, but if not i'll try and upload it to bsidesrus or somthing.
