Not about him. Kevin puts on a hella better show than Jesse. And he's not a stiff on stage.

KD > JL

eh he's not as "boring" and stiff on stage during the solo shows with kevin. everytime I've seen them play together he's been a lot more happy and active.

KD > JL
Jesse is clearly the headliner, as the title of the thread is Jesse Lacey Acoustic 11/25. Kevin happens to be playing with him because they are friends and enjoy playing together.

And I don't see how one person playing an acoustic guitar live can be "hella" better than another person performance wise...when I saw their tour in August of 07, both of them were pretty loose and joking around on stage. The only thing that's stiff is the ginger cock in your mouth.

Only thing stiff is your fat ass at a show. Fatty.

Goddamnit, everytime there is Jesse Lacey/Brand New show, some moron has to start a thread in this forum WAY before the actual show which inevitably ends up in all the various dumbasses who frequent this site arguing about the merits of including/not including YFW songs in the set.

underdawg1119
11/14/08, 01:17 PM
You are the only one that even mentioned YFW in the whole thread so far...besides Jesse almost always includes at least one or two YFW songs in his solo sets anyway, so lol@you.

Yeah, but it's inevitable. And I hope he does NOT play anything off that album.

I just got tickets for Dec 10th instead. I wish Kevin would stop playing shows that sell out while I'm in a class. haha. Although I admit I did not rush for the Saves The Day ones. I'm happy for him though, it's great that his shows are selling out.

More interested in Kevin's set, any idea?

I wonder how "Thunder Road" came out, it's not an easy cover, I hope he didn't murder the song like he does with a lot of other difficult covers (Neutral Milk comes to mind).

I urge you to put down your record collection immediately and run to the nearest store and purchase Bruce Springsteen albums. Start with Born to Run and start saving money because you're going to want his discography by the end of the year.

I prefer to call it Good Man, and I've seen it on Jesse's setlists as 'Good Man' before. But yes, it is the same song as Untitled 1.

Brother's Blood
Yr Damned Ol' Dad
Go Haunt Someone Else
Longer That I'm Out Here
Sweet Child of Mine (first verse/chorus)
Just Stay
Another Bag of Bones
No Time Flat
Carnivale
Tomorrow's Just Too Late
Ballgame into Tautou

Tomorrow's Just Too Late into Ballgame and Tautou was one of my favorite things about solo tour. Kevin's set was absolutely fantastic. The Thunder Road cover was pretty good from where I was, and you could tell Kevin and Jesse were definitely having fun with it.

Jesse's set was good too, but I was hoping for Soco and any night that ends with Coca-Cola is just a damper for me, but whatever, it was good to relive part of my summer for another night.

thunder road wasnt the most amazing cover ever, but it was really fun.

even though the show was the same line-up as the tour this summer, i felt like it had a totally different vibe...more relaxed, i guess? im sure it had to do with the fact that it was a hometown show.

mike stranahan's guitar lesson was priceless.

Not a bad set -- a little short. It's hard because all of his material is so good.

I really can't say that any video can touch actually being there.

I've been so sick and did nothing for days before so I could be healthy enough to go out last night. Very well worth it.

The people in the crowd are such clowns .. anything Jesse does, says, or looks at is worth some huge "woooo!" or "hahahahah". Jawns.

That Bruce cover isn't bad, surprising. KD does a nice job on that end solo while Jesse fucks it up "ba daa baa daa"ing. I'd like to have seen it live--just saw Jack's Mannequin do "I'm On Fire" perfectly.

Door opens. "WHOOO!" Door closes. "Awwww". Repeat 15 times.
It's like, go home. It's almost 1am, the show's over. Jesse did happen to walk in front of our car though (I really thought it was just some random guy looking for a cigarette or something at first, he came out of nowhere.)

the brothers blood song wasnt premiered at the show, you guys know that right?

there was a big thing on his website/myspace cause he left the lyrics at a show one night and was trying to get them back and a guy faxed him it or something

Yeah, it was at the CT show. But the way he played it the other night way insane. He just started screaming and freaking out. He sings it in a higher key now than before. There's also a full band version on YouTube.

Disgraceful.

90 percent of the crowd new it at least. For the other 10 percent, I think they need to fucking educate themselves on one of the most influential/greatest musicians of our time.
