The Promise Ring

I've always been a fan of these guys to a certain extent, but it's only been over the last couple of months that The Promise Ring have become one of my all-time favourite bands. They're one of two bands I can think of that have only done maybe one or two songs I didn't like. There's just something about the way their music speaks to me, I guess.

And, really, their lifetime as a band was perfect. When you listen to all of their albums in chronological order, you can find a really clear progression. Nothing Feels Good is easily my favourite TPR album (especially with the cover art..it's so nostalgic), and Wood/Water is such a great way to go out as a band.

I just wish I'd gotten a chance to see them live.

They mean a lot to me, I guess. Do they mean a lot to anyone else?

Instead of underratd, I would say overlooked. Especially by younger kids who dont listen to anything made before 2001.

They are overlooked. Everyone knows them, but not many give them the respect they deserve.

And, really, they wrote some of the catchiest songs in the world. The Deep South, Happiness Is All The Rage, Why Did We Ever Meet. Mmm. <3

I used the wrong word, you'd be right with overlooked. Not that many kids that I know have heard of them really.
