AP tests aren't that hard. College finals are harder. And if you fail, you've wasted a lot more than $70.

hmm...AP tests are hard in the sense that they put a year's worth of material on it opposed to just a semester...but you can also argue that that's what makes college finals harder...they're material is more concentrated plus there is more pressure ( cause of the money)...doing good on the APs is great though so I suggest all people taking APs to do it and do it well...cause of my AP credits I can take the minimum amount of credits senior year of college and those credits can be BS classes...

I have two of em coming up. Stat and Chem.
I always felt that stat was such a fucking waste cause it's worth less than AP calculus AB or BC...so why not just take that...I understand that ur school might not offer AP calc but my school did but people took stat as well as calc...idiots.

I opted to not take the chem for two reasons...it was senior year when I took it so I didn't wanna work hard thus I didn't know the material well...second...if I did do good, I'd have to take organic chem freshman year of college and that is just...not good. But because I took the AP course, I'm breezing through freshman chem...I haven't gotten any grade below a 91 in that class so far (including last semester).

if you want, I can IM you my practice tests for chem and that'll def. help you prepare for ur exam.

oh really?? I wish u the best of luck with that...I'm in calc II right now in college and again, if you want practice exams or anything...I'll be more than happy to hook you up...I guarantee it'll help you out...for chem I have notes and tests...anything u need, I'll help u out.

I'm taking the AP tests for Bio and English. As far as english goes, I'm not too worried about how i'll do, but with Bio, since I want to major in Biology, doing badly (less than a 4) would depress me greatly.

my AP calc exam was so hard I gave up and drew hand turkeys on the remaining pages to pass the time. I dominated AP US history and english to give me a nice head start on college credits.

I had the same exact problem when I took AP World History (I took it the first year it was offered)...what you have to do...sadly...is take shit into ur own hands...really just get a review book and go through it...that's ur best bet...I ended up getting a five on my AP so ya, I rock...I don't have my outlines on this PC but if I find em, just ask and I'll give.

My friend took that today and said he laughed at how easy it was. Although he's in 1,000 AP classes and has an A in every one of them.

I'm debating on taking AP English next year. I'm afraid it's going to be too much with everything else.

i have the AP world test this afternoon, in about an hour and 20 minutes. I did the entire class as an independent study, so I taught myself, and I should be studying right now, but I think my brain might explode.

I've got AP Euro Friday afternoon.

I took AP US, AP US Gov't and AP Comparative Gov't last year, and I got a 4, 5, 3 respectively.

Good luck to all my fellow World test takers. Discuss the test later?

my high school didn't have too many ap options, so i only took ap comp and psych, and i made a 5 on comp and a 3 on psych. what was great about my ap comp test was that when i wrote papers for my teacher (who was satan, i believe) i never got more than a 3 on any of my papers and she actually advised me to not take the test because she didn't think i would pass it. when i got my score, i wanted to be like.. suck it, bitch.

i only had one final in my classes this semester, all the other ones i either had final papers or projects due

Is the US gov test easy?

05/03/05, 02:01 PM
umm...us gov't is easy if you pay attention to current events. If you know what's basically going on in the world around you, it's cake.

I got a 5, I didn't study once and had a high A all semester.

My teacher was fantastic.

If you do take the US gov't test, take the Comp Gov't test too, because it's free, and it's not that bad. I decided to take ita few weeks before the test, bought a review book, read it the weekend before and got a 3.

By the way:

The AP World test wasn't that bad. It coulda been a lot worse.

I envy him too, he's wicked smart and gives great help with my Chem problems. But, the spends his whole life studying.

I know it might be worth it but next year I'm going to have: French III, SAT Prep, Integrated Math, Physics Honours, English III honours, AP Psych, and AP US. I don't think I could handle AP English. Well, I could but my status of sanity would go way down.

05/04/05, 01:41 PM
good luck to all u bitches. AP classes are definitely the way to go...like cal said earlier...it gives u time to rest when u need it most. I mean, cause of my AP credits...I'm technically a junior once I finish my freshman year...wild eh? This will be useful when you have to take some sorta test (MCAT, GRE, LSAT, DAT, etc.) during junior or senior year. I know so many kids who are stuck taking summer classes and I dunno if you know but doing that shit looks HORRIBLE to grad schools...try in AP...you will definitely benefit...and if that's not enough to convince you...just consider how much money you (and/or your parents) will save cause of it.

ya what's key in AP classes is the teacher...for the classes where I had great teachers...I got great scores without a lot of work. I still did good on my APs with bad teachers but I had to put in way too much effort to get it.

puhffft
02/08/08, 02:10 PM
Yeah, I have three: environmental science, English, and government. Not too stressed, though. What happens happens. Just study hard, stay cool, and you'll be fine.

That, or you can do what I did last year. I started writing an essay, but ended up with a drawing of a highly detailed beach scene on one page and "NO" on the other page. Then made a maze around it.

Didn't do so well on that one. It was one of those doomed-from-the-start things.

I've got AP Spanish and AP U.S. History this year. I'm pretty sure the spanish one is going to be one of the most painful tests of my life, with all the speakings and writings and fill ins and multiple choices, and just, it sounds insane and awful. History I think I'll be fine though. Last year I took AP world and had an awful teacher, so I got myself a review book and crammed for 2 straight weeks and got a 4. Only one other girl in my class passed with me. But with US, I have a good teacher, PLUS I'm gonna do the cramming thing again, so I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.

Law school exams are worse than college ever was.

The only AP exam I didn't pass was AP US History, which was taught by my good friends dad, who know laughs every time I see him.

History might be a little rough just because of how specific my professor's questions can be. I just need a B. Monday's exam isn't really a big deal for me. I've done all semester in that class so I'm just shooting for whatever I can get but I'm not going to bother stressing.

The papers were honestly more of a bitch because of the three consecutive days they were all due around.

We might be on block schedule next year so that might help. But we're not currently.

I would be taking 7 but I also have a Senior Project to do. 30 hours of community service and a 10 page essay, as well as an internship are all a part of it.

Block Schedule is a help and a hindrance.
My senior year i taught myself AP Bio and AP Calc AB through online courses year round with AP Chem on the block system year round, and AP English on a semester. My best test scores all came out of my year round classes. Though on a side note, I definitely didn't study and didn't answer 15 questions on the AP Chem exam and got a 4, so obviously that exam isn't that big of a deal.

My finals weren't bad except for my O. Chem final which was 50 freaking percent of my grade.

but after the APs, i have to worry about advanced subsidiaries. oh, and if anyone knows what AS level tests are, could you tell me if they sell review books? and if they sell them in the US?

your school might require you to take the course, but the AP exams dont have any prerequisite. talk to your guidance counselor, they'll probably let you take it
if they do require you to take the course, you could just try and take some at a different school

ive got two down and three to go. the only one i'm truly worried about is music theory tomorrow. i understand music theory just fine, but you can't teach somebody how to do the listening and while i'm not horrible at it, i'm still not that great at it. i think that's most of the exam, too. poop.

I had my APUSH exam on Friday. Multiple choice was easy, I made the DBQ my bitch, did alright on the first essay and awful on the second.

Studying my face off for music theory and World.
Everyone keeps saying that world is a walk in the park, so it's getting me less nervous. I've got four practice tests to take now... one each day 'til thursday lol

I was a little nervous, but I took my practice test for APES and I did pretty well. But you know, it's whatever. Don't stress. Just study and do the best you can. The world won't end if you score a 3 instead of a 4 :)

good lord, theory was NOT good. our CD kept skipping in the middle of the examples and the guidance counselors running it didn't seem to understand that we kind of need to hear the WHOLE example to answer the questions. sight singing wasn't too bad and neither were the melodic or harmonic dictations...but the multiple choice was pretty beastly. oh well, it's over.

i think chemistry tomorrow will be sweet, though.

Yes. And?

Got a 5 on World History, but I'd figured that I had. Not bad for never doing homework all year, haha.

4 on APUSH. Did nothing all year, it's hanging on my fridge. Enough to get college credit that's all I care about.

So i was looking for a place to brag about my shitty AP scores ^.^

Junior year in high school:

AP Chem = 1
AP Cal BC = 1
AP Cal AB = 2
AP Eng Lang = 3

How's that ftw? Egh contradictory to a previous thread of how only smart kids come to this thread >.< ^.^
Yeah, anyone up for laughs at my score =P give it to me ^.^

AP's are a joke, and i didn't take the classes for the credit rather for the knowledge and not have to work TOOOO hard freshman year of college ^.^

Should've cancelled my scores huh? Good thing i'm not sending em in and im aiming toward a public state university =]]

I am shocked at myself for passing English Language, barely scraping by with a 3 haha. I'm much more proud of my 5 in Calc BC and Psych. And getting a free AB subscore? Even better.

Ahhhhh, I am such a little geek for actually caring and bragging about these things. :)

I got 5s on both APUSH and English Language. I was shocked with the English grade...I fucking hated that class. I'm taking AP Chem and English Lit this year. I've heard the Chem exam is a bitch. Truth?

4 on my Calc AB. I'll take it. I don't feel the exam properly tests the students though. But that's another story. If I didnt make a dumb mistake I would have gotten a 5 :-/... SIGH
