Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a
gallon by the summer and it might go higher!!

Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.

Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE
SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that
was going around last April or May! The oil companies just
laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue
to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an
inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,
whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join with us! By now you're probably thinking
gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.56 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost! of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50- $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY
gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the messagereaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and ! pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. (If
you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am ... so trust me on this one.)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

if you think Gas is expensive in the states you should come to japan. it's about $4 a gallon (although it's full service i.e 1950's style where a team comes out and checks your tire pressure and washes your windows and stuff)

Gas just went down here. Believe what you want but it goes up and then does come back down. I dont think gas will hit $3/gallon, at least not here. Right now its only $2.01 here but right across in Omaha its $2.30 or so. Nothing will change it, just pay for the gas, car pool or change the way you do things. Adapt to life, dont try and change what you cant.

you are lucky it's atleast 2.68 here down at the mobils.
Holy SHIT!

It's like $2.07 here. Does anyone remember when it was like $0.97 like 5 or 6 year back?

I dont remember that, but I do remember people freaking out around here when it was $1.30 or so, like it was the end of the world.

It was like $0.97 either when I was in middle school or like my freshman year of high school. At least in Washington. That was crazy. The shitty thing is I wanted to get a Toyota Tacoma when I got done with school and now I'm probably going to have to be smart and get a freakin' car so I get better gas mileage. :P My car sucks for gas mileage right now. I drive a Bronco II, I mean it's pretty good for an SUV, but it's still and SUV.

Actually you are wrong. My Dad is a stock broker and he said the cost for oil was going down. So no, gas prices will not be going up.

AND he's a liberal. So don't try and tell me he's just believing Conservative crap.

See, I heard they were producing more oil for gas prices to go down, but then like the next day they fuckin' sky rocketed and said on the news it would be $3.00 a gallon this summer, what the fuck?

the cheapest i saw gas today was 1.97.

i remember here in ohio there was like this gas buying frenzy last year, a meijer store had it for 10 cents a gallon for about an hour, it cause a HUGE traffic jam...

this could work... but what other place do exxon and mobil control... i mean i think i have one mobil around here and tons of BP's, sunocos, 7-11's etc...

dude. Canada is already paying $3.00+/gallon for our gas and it's estimated to be going up even more in the next 2 months.

Right now I'm at 0.89/Litre, but it's going to be over 1.00/litre by July. Vancouver, and the bigger cities like Montreal and Toronto, I'm sure, are already paying over 1.00/litre... It's stupid considering that everything north of my city is oil fields and rigs...

This is a really dumb idea. I mean I appreciate the attempt to get together the masses to try and help us save a few bucks but number 1 this definitely won't work and number 2 isn't there more useful things we can organize the masses to do than lower gas prices?
The reason why this won't work is because gas prices are already sold at such low profit margins there is really no room for the prices to go but up.
Also, there is more than enough competition to keep prices low since, as you may have noticed there is gas stations everywhere. Down the street from my school there is 3 gas stations on 3 of 4 corners and 3 blocks up from that there is another 2 gas stations on 2 of the 4 corners.

2. Let's try not to unite behind anything because change is bad and we are only people so how could we change anything anyway?

1. I care
2. Change is bad indeed. Gotta hate it... Like when McDonalds got rid of Super Size.
