Just something i whipped up in class the other day
I sit at home and glance over the coast
Wishing if only I could make a toast
A toast to everything I once knew
And a toast to everyone that will not pull through
And my mother watches over her only son
While over seas, my father loads his gun
I have no idea where he is or what hes done
But I do know that neither side has won
And we get news every single day
Yet every time we throw it away
But today brought news that made a family instantly depressed
News that read "Father of one laid to rest"
I sit at home and glance over the coast
Wishing if only I could make a toast
A toast to everything I once knew
And a toast to everyone that will not pull through
And my mother watches over her only son
While over seas, my father loads his gun
I have no idea where he is or what hes done
But I do know that neither side has won
And we get news every single day
Yet every time we throw it away
But today brought news that made a family instantly depressed
News that read "Father of one laid to rest"
