View Full Version : Gray Ghost (Official Thread)
I pulled out their 10'' today again after months of not listening to them. (I don't know why) And this release is like a fine wine, it gets better with age. I also think ones emotional state determines how good/bad this S/T release is. You can interpret these lyrics + instrumentation very deeply based on your state of mind/feelings. Which is awesome, because I am currently feeling down, maybe over a female or stress or other things, and this album is just so fucking dark and the lyrics finally hit me... where as they didn't before because I was probably more stoked on life than anything.
Band rules.
I think when I first listened to this I thought it was angry music so I was just like cool. But holy fuck I feel like it got dark even though nothing has changed about it.
This is one of my favorite "new" bands in the last year or so. No doubt.
I can dig. I think I've heard an EP by them or something.

Good shit, like the 10" a lot.
Yea this is really a great release in terms of music and format, Copper Lung did a great job for a smaller ran solo label. Props to him and the band.

Not sure how into you are with "heavier-esque" music, but they are a must at least listen/try. I wouldn't say they are an acquired taste, but more of a gateway/more listenable band of their influences they are trying to sound like/rip off in my opinion. the 10'' is definitely a good spin for me right because it's 3 pm here in Pennsylvania, it's already dark and it's fucking raining, a combo so unmatched, I might destroy my room and think about going out with a bang just from the lyrics of this band. (not really, but you get the idea.)

I miss Pennsylvania's weather. Always depressing.
The music on the myspace is interesting.. will check out more. I like how it's really atmospheric.
I think the music on the myspace has two "newer" songs, that have a way different sound from the 10'' in my opinion. I don't think they are bad (the new songs), but I really enjoy their older/style on the first release.

i'm in pennsylvania, too. it was just 60 something and sunny but now of course the clouds are beginning to collect and it's starting to get darker, so i should be in your situation within the next hour. your plan sounds pretty good right now; i'll definitely get on that.

Yea I was out pretty late last night, so I slept in/all the way through the sunny parts of today apparently, I just woke up about 10 minutes ago, and apparently I looked out and it's dark and rainy, so I definitely missed anything good about today. lol

Alright htanks. Bored lately and wanted to try and learn a new song on my bass... never learned anything from hardcore so figured it'd be a nice play to start.

Check out a mini-interview with Gray Ghost in issue #44 of WonkaVision Magazine to see what the band has to say about gas station hot dogs.
