The more I think about, I really really hate how the writers did the whole Pam in NYC storyline. So basically we know that she is a failure at achieving her dreams.

So basically we know that she is a failure at achieving her dreams.I agree, but it really was the only way that made sense to bring her back into the office. they should of held out on this story arc until the last season of the show and then had jim move to NY with pam

Nothing good could have come from that storyline.

Either:

a) Pam stays in NYC , Jim stays in Scanton = show jumps the shark
b) Pam stays in NYC . Jim moves to NYC = show dies
c ) Pam moves back to scranton with a worthless "degree" = story arc is pointless
d) Pam moves back without her degree = pam's character is ruined slightly , story arc still pointless

I think my favorite scene from the Office was when Michael burned his foot and Dwight went to go get him. Rammed the pole-stumbled out of the car, puked on the trunk, and hopped back in the car and drove away.

I was literally on the floor laughing.

I love when Ryan brings it up again in the Ben Franklin episode

Michael: [at his George Foreman grill] Look at that. Nothing like grilling in the great outdoors.
Ryan: Is this the same grill you grilled your foot on?
Michael: No…yes…but I got all the foot off of it.

I've really liked his character the past 5 episodes.Great point about Michael's character. Last season he was so obnoxious and unappealing that I lost interest in his storylines and couldn't even root for him.

The writers were heading down the Ross/Rachel breakup road so I'm glad they got off and didn't follow it till the end. I've already seen a fan favorite couple breakup when the girl decided her career/dream was more important so I definitely didn't want to see it again.

are you kidding me man? I thought the fourth season is where the writers upp'd their game and really surprised me. From the cold open to the season close - gold imo. This season is a little "different" feeling to me, but so far I wouldn't describe any of the episodes as unfunny. - or any office ep to be honest.

I'm completely confused as to what they are going to do with Pam though. I thought the art degree would be her ticket out of the Office (at the end of the series)....so this is a surprise. did anyone else think this?

okay i'm a girl... but no i am not kidding. the thing that i don't like about the fourth season is that it felt like a completely different show. the humor changed from mildly dry to something any 13 year old girl could laugh at, and the dry humor is what i like most about the show.

but i agree, i did think that pam would stay in new york, jim would follow and that would be the eventual demise of the show. at least it looks like the show will be around a little longer than i expected, so yay for that.

Well, while I agree it is unbelievable that he would be rehired, I still like his presence on the show. The random conversations he's been apart of (like last week when Jim asks Ryan about Kelly) have been funny and just suit his office persona. It's going to be weird now that BJ Novak wants to leave even though Ryan was rehired, so it'll be interesting to see how the writers explain his absence.

They will not fire him. I don't think him being demoted would be that funny. They already did it in "The Carpet". Not officially, but he did work with the sales staff already. I'd say if anything corporate may finally level with him and treat him decently. It wouldn't be outrageously funny, but it would be realistic. Hmm... that'd be nice. Realistic...

Toby's character was ruined for me. I don't want him back. He was tolerable, but now whenever I see him I feel what it must be like to be Michael and see Toby. Bleh. He's everything that's wrong with the paper industry.

And as for BJ Novak leaving the show... eh. Ryan has been useless this season. His character is offering nothing anymore. The show/writers are loyal to actors and keep them around long after their character's usefulness has run its course (ex. Melora Hardin); I would like to see them just get rid of characters once they've run their course. They beat too many dead horses.

Ok I just watched seasons 1-4 on Netflix in order over the past three or so weeks. Now I'm caught up and want to start season 5 but I can't find the first two episodes anywhere. The last five are on hulu but any suggestions on where I can see the first two?

Are they not up on nbc.com? That's where I catch the ones I missed. The quality is good, too.

So far my highlight for the season has been the Battlestar Galactica comments Jim made. Classic.

"Dumbledore Calrissian" I think is my favorite character of all time

what do we think is going to happen with the whole anglea/dwight/andy fiasco? I <3 Andy. w/ all his annoying-ness. but I moderately want dwight to have angela just cause he can't get anyone else. Andy is at least moderately attractive...did I just say that? haha.

I'm really curious about that too. I think it's so funny that the most religious, morally bound character is the one cheating. I absolutely love Andy. He's just so awkward and tries to hard and dresses amazingly. And I agree, he is moderately attractive. haha. As for the storyline, I honestly have no idea what'll happen. The best part about Angela/Dwight's relationship was that it was so secretive so if she leaves Andy for Dwight, I think it'll lose that. I kinda feel that maybe Andy will break it off with Angela. Especially after that last episode.

Seeing as it's the reason why Toby decided to leave -- before his return you'd think that would be the #1 thing to address. Unless he has all of a sudden stopped feeling that way and Jim and Pam have forgiven him massaging her leg -- it's completely ridiculous to assume he would come back. Let alone just "be back". Unless the writers are admitting the last episode of last season was pointless from every angle.

Ungrateful bitch. She's a fucking receptionist and an art school failure - like she could every do better. They need to drop the whole art thing from her character. Even if the art studio in the garage suddenly made her love the house why would that make a difference? Failing art school probably isn't the best way to start a career in that field.

Most of the usual storylines have been played out. They pop the dwight and angela in there but don't seem to expand much on them. I wish they would set an end date and write leading up to it.Hence why they should've ended it after season 3. It seems like getting Pam and Jim together has had a trickle down effect that's ruining the show quickly. That storyline gave the show so much heart that I think it was easy to look at a storyline like Michael burning his foot on a Foreman grill and say, "I buy that as being a real possibility." Now I see something like that and I can't help but criticize it since no story arcs are keeping my interest.

So are they going to even discuss WHY Toby left? And the weird shit with Pam? What the hell? What was with the bit about Michael not knowing Toby had been back for the last week? Seemed unnecessary since it added nothing to story and was only in there to get a cheap laugh that wasn't in the script to begin with.

seems pretty consistent with the other seasons so i don't really see this being canceled anytime soonI think this season the show will be fine. Next season is where they'll get in trouble. Over at Officetally I've been glancing at some of the comments for each episode and I've noticed far more negative things this season than ever before. I'm going to assume this season will not get much better which will continue to annoy viewers. Next year the season opener will be lower than executives think and with the natural drop after that the ratings will be much lower than they are now. I can foresee Jenna, John, and Rainn asking for way more money than NBC wants to give them which might result in a mid season 6 notice that the show will end next year. They've already got Steve locked up for a nice contract so when you add that to the ridiculous amount of money they're being given for production it might be too much.

I loved Creeds small part in this last episode. Overall, I really enjoyed this episode.

This weeks episode pissed me off. It had potential, and initially I was excited and thought it was going to be funny. But then they had to include that microwave situation bullshit, and Ryan proceeded to be super-annoying, although I did laugh at his "friends from high school, well, A high school" comment. Still, I was let down.

yes, creed's expression when the cops came in was priceless, probably the best part of the episode for me

i'm kind of disappointed that david wallaces character has started to become kind of an asshole, i really liked his character when he was nicer

Michael's reaction at the cold opening, Creed, and the perfect crime were great.
I also liked when Michael was trying to start a fight with Toby.
This episode needed more Kevin

"Cool beans man. I live by the quarry. We should hang out by the quarry and throw things down there!"
- Creed, on Jim living by the quarry.

he is, I always say I want more of him but the fact that he randomly chimes in with insane stuff is what makes him great

I’m not offended by homosexuality. In the 60s I made love to many, many women – often outdoors in the mud and the rain – and it’s possible that a man slipped in. There’d be no way of knowing

Agreed, I don't want to get oversaturated with Creed. It would ruin the few moments for me that he does pop in. My favorite Creed moments include him switching the cards on the wedding present in "Phyllis' Wedding" and every single time he was on screen in "Product Recall."

gotcha, thank you. I didn't realize that was included in "production" costs.

As someone who got Netflix a month ago and at that time had never seen one episode, I can definitely see the decline. I have literally watched every episode from the beginning, in order, in the past two and a half weeks, and last night I finally caught up in season 5. I don't know if anything will top season 2/3. Pam and Jim's story line was so believable but I don't know if they can ever recapture that. Def. need more Kevin.

Highlights of this season are definitely the crime auction and opening scene of the halloween episode. "It squeaks when you bang it" might be the best "thats what she said" line ever.

i have a feeling that Jim and Pam are going to break up though. that would actually make for good story lines.

I could have sworn Pam was going to cheat on Jim with that dbag from New York. That would have been interesting. Or at least made Jim sweat it out thinking that she was.

"They don't just hand out get out of jail free cards, those things cost thousands of dollars."

with all this creed talk i cant but help remember one of the funniest creed moments (excluding his reaction to the cops last week). in fun run when meredith is in the hospital i love it when he asks her what drugs shes on and he gets all mad because she doesnt know

"oxycotton, codeine, percocet?"

hes barely in any of the first 2 seasons, the third season he becomes a more frequent guest star, then i believe in the fourth season creed was actually made part of the cast, instead of just the extras. so to answer your question it would be season 4, and the one where he dyes his hair is dunder mifflin infinity (or my favorite dunder mifflinfinity)
