Why do you say that?
Wasn't AFRICOM created to veer away from the title of USA as "selective engagers" in Africa?

I wouldn't argue that we have been as unilateral there (in the military sense, since we obviously have a fair amount of aid going there, or I could be wrong) as the Middle East or South America. And although I know AFRICOM will be established there is no way way it will be as active as CENTCOM.
