as much as I love it...I hope The Office gets cancelled after this season or next. honestly, season 3 (maybe season 2) was the pinnacle and as much as I like it, it's not getting any better.

oh and other than that I agree with Family Guy (quickly going down the shitter) and American Dad (that show is one of the worst I've seen)

i disagree with absolutely everything you said.

granted, the office is in a slump right now but i think post-writer's strike material will continually get better. just like it took season 1-3 to pick up like it did.

family guy has been better lately. the newest season has stopped relying on stupid character crutches as much (ie: Evil Monkey, Ollie The Weatherman, chicken fights, etc...) and has begun to focus on stories with heavy references that don't carry too far from the story, just like their peaks in season 2-3.

american dad is also slowely getting better and better. i thought it should've been cancelled after the first season but, it's managed to turn around and become more appealing with very direct main stories that mock a particular style and having a side-story more similar to season 1-2 main plots, linear and predictable.

i'm optimistic that all will get better, and even if they don't improve... all these shows will still be better than most on tv.

fair enough, but I just can't see The Office getting much better than it has been in the past. every show has its peak and personally I think it has reached its peak, but only time will tell I guess. I would just hope that the creators have enough sense to end the show before it starts to actually suck.

Every odd episode or so I have caught of the latest Family Guy season just seems like more of the same with odd tangents and digressions from the actual story. granted I have a soft spot for that show but it just seems to be getting worse for me.

American Dad though just isn't my bag at all. it comes off as trying too hard to be funny, but I give respect for actually giving a good response instead of the "you're an idiot, I'm right" quip that I would normally get.

maybe i should've been a little more descriptive with my reply instead of you've got to be fucking kidding me but, based on all the shows critical priase, obviously amazing reception of the show (based on ratings and the exponentially increasing popularity of tina fey since the debut of the series), and the popularity of season 1 dvd sales (season 2 has already moved a fiar amount of units compared to other tv show DVDs also) that it would be obvious you're in the minority thinking the show should be cancelled. Networks should narrow down their crime dramas, way too many out their. They are always getting decent ratings, so who can blame them.
The dancing and singing shows do not interest me so I would personally cancel them.
Desperate Housewives would be a definite cancellation.
30 Rock and Saturday Night Live is a definite cancellation.
Otherwise, I have no real beef with any of these shows. I just will turn the channel.

I'm surprised at some of the "two and a half men" and "Big Bang Theory" cancellation suggestions. They are consistently in the top 3 of most watched shows on network television (Behind Dancing With the Stars) between the ages of 18-49 on Monday's and Big Bang Theory is starting to grow it's rating every week. Both of which I have been watching since they have premiered and are my 2 favorite comedies on television.

I get so much shit when I tell people that Family Guy isn't funny. then I watch it with them and they barely laugh the entire time, then still claim its good. The funniest parts are the obscure pop culture references that its main fan base doesn't even understand. It's fucking ridiculous.

hmmm well, ha I think its equally ridiculous when I hear people dont think family guy, simpsons, south park is funny "anymore" or whatever....

i still find the show to be randomly clever....and they still spit out timeless characters and jokes constantly. the Germany episode was one of my favorite in a while.....maybe people in virginia just have a different sense of humor....

I don't expect the same things from Family Guy that I expect from say The Office so besides the occasional joke that's taken too far, do they really need to devote 3 minutes of a 20 minute program to a single song?, I'm generally not disappointed

You make it sound as if that Family Guy and South Park are doing no wrong and if you don't like them then you're nitpicking. There are far better comedies on television than those two shows. They stopped being funny a while ago, hence the idea that they should be cancelled

You make it sound as if that Family Guy and South Park are doing no wrong and if you don't like them then you're nitpicking. There are far better comedies on television than those two shows. They stopped being funny a while ago, hence the idea that they should be cancelled
they CANT do no wrong...at least not to my eyes.

this season of family guy and south park have been just as funny as previous seasons. like ive mentioned, the Go the Germany episode i think was a classic. and as far as south park goes, i think this season ranks up their as one of the best.

And I mean, i guess "funny" is clearly subjective because other than family guy, south park, simpsons, daily show kind of stuff, and always sunny.... i dont find any other shows to be on their level of humor. Ive watched the Office, Scrubs and thought "ha...funny"...but the shows that I find funny, I actually find myself laughing, quoting, and mentioning for months to come.

I kind of can't stand Drama, and Turtle is annoying. But, I always care about what happens to Vince, E, Ari, and my all time favorite character... Lloyd.

I agree about Drama and Turtle. Love Ari and E and sometimes Vince annoys me with how childish he can be. There's no question that Lloyd is someone whom I love. I'm not afraid to admit it.

SVU hasn't gone down the shitter yet. The original is probably going to end this or next season. The casting has gotten horrid. They can't keep a character.

And you'll be happy to know that loving a gay guy doesn't make you gay at all. Nope. Not in the least.

Its not that they are bad television, its that there are a thousand of them and USA and networks alike show them constantly which means they aren't showing better stuff.

I'm going to add local news too. Worthless.
