Yeah...i was going to say "he was testing to see if Reed had any range in this weather'...but that is what pre-game is for. Anything outside 45 is a joke...and the last time Reed missed a kick, the field was like this condition wise

Beauty for me...I had the Steelers -4.5...that just turned a losing bet into a winning bet
I was real worried once I saw the weather, because the last time it was like this, it was a 3-0 game and that doesn't break that spread (and it was against a far worse Miami team). But thank you Troy.

Titans really showed me something today. They played terribly and a bullshit call spotted the Jags their first touchdown. We knew we didn't play Titans football int he first half, and we came right out in the second half and did exactly what we wanted to. I was a little surprised with how fast we got the lead back, but it looks like Collins and Gage have finally started to get timing together. (a few weeks back that deep ball would have been 5 yards ahead of Gage). They connected 3 times on that play (Dinger loves it). This is a run first team, but it's also a team that can do whatever they need to do to win the game. First time in a while that the Titans have swept the Jags in a season. It feels great. 10-0 feels even better.
gonna be a fantastic game next week against the Jets.

While i don't normally agree with conspiracy theories...there is no way the Steelers game should have been 11-10, the "illegal forward pass" was 5 yards backwards...they even reviewed the play, which means the ref had to be blind to fuck that up...and the ref even admitted afterwards he screwed it up.
What makes this one fun is that the Steelers still have gambling associated with their ownership (thats the minor element), and that the call in question didn't change the outcome of the game, just the outcome of the betting. And that they reviewed it (this is the major part) to "verify" the forward pass and, after the game was over, overturn the original correct ruling. Then the added things like the joke of a PI call early in the game and the 16,000 holding penalties called on the Steelers add in to it too
I doubt anything comes of it...but it could be a fun discussion
why does that play even need to be reviewed. the call on the field whether they call it illegal forward pass or not has no impact on the game, just the spread.

well done, Titans. We'll be back next year when we're healthy. Injuries were our cancer this year.
yea, injuries and the fact that you guys just aren't playing well. everybody has injuries. I know yours are to the O and D lines, which are two of the most critical areas, but still.
The Colts have injuries and they've muscled through them, as well as their shitty play. They're probably going to be in the playoffs at least.
Now, looking at the Titans schedule, i'm starting to think we really do have a decent chance to finish undefeated. That's not what I want, although i don't want us to just lose a game for the hell of it.
If we can beat the Jets at home next week we have the Lions, Browns, and Texans up next. Then we finish the season with a home game against the Steelers (I'm not sure how big of a game that will be, we'll both have sealed up playoffs, and probably 1st round byes.) Then end the season in Indi (Colts will probably still be playing for a playoff spot).
Weather we lose one before the Colts game or not i hope Vince Young gets to play the majority of that game. I think this season is the best thing that could possibly happen to him. He's been humbled and can watch and learn from a guy that's been doing this for a while. I'm hoping to see some improvements from him for the years to come.

they show you can find ways to win. and coming from a team that won one game all of last year, that says a lot about how far they've come in less than a season.
margin of victory in the nfl is completely irrelevant. even the bad teams are still full of professional football players playing for pride. there's no cakewalks at this level.
at the end of the day, whether or not you got the win is the only thing that matters.

i think that's complete bullshit. it may only matter when you play a good team, but if you cannot handle awful teams for 58 minutes, you're going to get eaten alive when you play a good one. i have zero faith in miami anymore and i think they'll get rocked the minute they play a playoff team.

it's just a matter of principle. whether something happens in the first or last seconds of the game, the nfl is supposed to make the right call.
i have to admit though, it was funny seeing everyone leaving the bar in ecstasy as they thought they had covered.

When you've got a guy like Peyton Manning on your team who can lead your team back late several games in a row and barely lose one of them (to the jags) it's much easier to overcome injuries.
If you take away our running game, it is ridiculously easy to beat us, as many teams have proven since the pittsburgh playoff game last year, when we couldn't run the ball. Getting Mo Williams and Vince Manuwai back next season will bring back our running game. We were trying to fill some big shoes with some fresh faces, and it just wasn't getting done. Somehow, MJD has still managed to score 5 rushing TD's in the last 2 games, and granted, most of them were just goalline punch-ins, but that guy makes me excited for the teams' future at the RB position. He's in a tie for first in rushing TD's with 11 right now.
The biggest disappointment for me has been the shitty play all year of the Jaguars' secondary. Reggie Nelson looked liked Justin Gage's bitch all afternoon. He was dragged into the endzone a good 10-15 yards because of a pussy attempt at a tackle. Other than Rashean Mathis, the Jags' secondary has been pretty much awful.
Oh well. At least I've still got the Packers to root for this season.

i disagree.
preparation comes into play big time there. the 'shit' teams are planning every week like it's gonna be their super bowl. their opponent's generally aren't putting the same amount of time into preparing for them because they're a 'shit' team, so they're being overlooked.
when you put bust ass against half ass, the 'shit' teams are gonna look a lot better than they actually are.
sure, it goes to say a lot about preparation and focus. but if you come out of those games with a win, it also says a lot about talent and determination.
when the playoff teams come around, you'll see a completely different dolphins team.

its so hard to watch blown coverages over and over and over again, i get nervous on the inside every time an opposing quarterback airs out a pass now. it used to only be peyton manning who could make me feel like that when im watching a game, but now its like fucking ryan fitzpatrick, and with good reason too.
i think brian williams is overrated and not worth his starting position, ive thought that for awhile. he lacks height and simply does not have the speed or athleticism to make up for it, i mean if you're fabian washington thats one thing, but without that kind of raw talent unless you're one of the smartest defenders in the league you won't cut it. however reggie nelson has been great, espeically considering such a short tenure, and his poor performance against tennessee was strikingly unnerving.
i mean, rashean is still all over the place though, im glad we still can hold on to ONE shutdown corner.
