if they dont come to an agreement, couldnt the nhl start a new league and former players from the nhl can play if they want to, and fill open spots with rookies or people from the AHL ?

They wouldn't be starting a new league they'd just be using replacement players, I think the league is considering that option but it's going to get a little tricky because of some Canadian law and the use of replacement workers(players) to end a lock out.

the nhl just needs to agree with the players..hockey is gonna be dead after this lock out it was already in a bad time the lock out is fuckin them over..

I agree but all the hockey fans I've talked to about this say they're coming back and let's be honest hockey didn't have many casual fans that they lost as a result. I think if they come back with a more competitive league, and modified rules to make it more enjoyable to the casual fan the sport should be able to bounce back.

yea i agree..i think they need to change a lot with the league not just the salarys or whatever..if it was higher scoring that would definatly help with the popularity..

I've heard that the league is thinking of making the goals bigger. I don't know about that but I think they should adopt Olympic style of play and open up the ice and allow the game to go back and forth much quicker.

If they eliminated two-line passing the game would be so much better and I hate the stupid trap defense the devils would play. So damn boring to watch, so something should be done to make that harder to do.

I've been to a few Rangers games in the past few years. I think I've seen the rangers and Islanders play four times with the Rangers winning everyone. But watching live hockey is the best I just wish I could have attended a meaningful game but since the Rangers sucked they were all kind of unimportant.
