Big Blue Sky

You're starting to sound a bit fatalistic
yeah, we're all gonna die
but when I get back to New York
they're gonna put me on trial

you're starting to sound a lot like your cousin
yeah, and sometimes I do too
and I'm not sure if you were right
that we've got nothing to lose

and I know you don't mean it
so why do you act so down?
I don't want to be the one
who puts you in the ground

It's starting to feel a lot like a movie
and living cliches
but when I get back to Poughkeepsie
they're gonna crucify me

yeah but it's starting to feel a little bit romantic
living this way
but I'm not sure if we were right
that there's no reason to stay

and I know you don't mean it
so why do you act so proud?
I don't want to be alone
when it all crashes down

and you know I don't mean it
when I say I wanna die
I just need to get outside
to see that big blue sky

and I know you don't believe it
so why do you act so right?
I am always going to be the one
who's on your side

oh, what a joy it is to be alive

it's really simple, i like how you keep a similar theme with every stanza. i could tell right away that it was written as lyrics. it probably sounds a lot better with a melody. awesome : )

Thanks, yeah thats why I posted a link for it because a lot of my stuff doesn't always translate perfectly to type.

"You're starting to sound a bit fatalistic
yeah, we're all gonna die"

In my opinion, this is weak support for using the word "fatalistic," if only because it's the only support of the word. If you're going to use the word in your opening line, you need to better support the idea of someone being fatalistic in the rest of the song.
