You implied it. If Chroma had songs about girls, then how did that album not show that he could write songs that aren't about girls? Songs like Honestly don't have to be about girls, even though they probably are. It is possible to apply them to other situations. You don't have to be so 1 dimensional about lyrics.

Yea "Lose it" was probably my least favorite. The video for it was pretty bad too. "The Fortunate" would have been a much better single.i thought "lose it" was decently catchy, but "the fortunate" was way too generic for me. i've heard that melody 1000x in pop music.

i look forward to whatever these guys come up with next. it can't possibly be as bad as the s/t....right?

My favorite Cartel song is "Settle Down". It is one of my all time favorites of all songs. My favorite song on the self titled is "This is Who We Are".

Yeah, i think Will's vocals really dominate the S/T.. They're really improved from Chroma, and I think that overall, S/T has catchier songs.

yes his voice really impressed me in this one. but i don't think it had catchier songs, i mean there's a reason why people loved Chroma. they love those damn poppy songs, which i kind of got tired of. what are your favorite songs?

Their latest wasn't that bad. It was a departure from chroma (which isn't horrible) but i thought it was cool. Chroma was totally the shizz though.

yeah i'm not saying it's a bad song, maybe a little jk, but the fortunate would have gotten more attention and they only released lose it for the album. they should have went all out with the fortunate or this is who we are which is also really catchy to me.

eh he wrote a small blog about hearing some tracks. yes that would be really nice to hear. i'll try and look for the blog hold on haha

Well damn, I'll always be a Cartel fan. Granted the s/t wasn't my favorite thing in the world, but Chroma is one of my favorite albums and I have faith in them for the next record. One of my most anticipated for next year.

To be honest, self-titled grew on me but I still think it contains a flurry of flaws in its execution. However, I do think it was not nearly as awful as many make it out to be. There are some hints of brilliance there, but some of the weaker songs really lack the creativity that made Chroma stick out. For me, it's mainly found in the first half of the record.

ahh, awesome. I want to hear them so bad. and that's awesome you said they sounded like a possible return to form. and I agree with you that the S/T wasn't as bad as most people claim it is, although I still like Chroma more.

I understand, Self Titled took a while to fully connect with me but now that it has, I find that it's such an impovement over Chroma. But Chroma's still an amazing though!
I agree, I do that with many different bands, I do that to Fightstar, and they're my favourite band.

I love those too. I also really love Matter Of Time and A. Both are amazing.

I think that I'll really enjoy it. I've loved everything that they've released thus far. Hopefully this is no exception!

Really? They should totally come back sometime, by all acounts they put on a really great live show, so I'm super excited to go and see them if they return to Melbourne.

I listened to the studio version and thought it was so good. Although the quality wasn't the best you can still see that this song is going to be pretty amazing.

I hate when songs get messed up when I put them on my iPod. Jersey by Mayday has these glitches in it when I l isten to it on my iPod. Most annoying thing pretty much ever. Sadly, you had me listening to Cartel after my computer's meltdown so I don't have them. I hate technology.

Definitely. I'm getting totally anxious for one...
I've ordered things before, although I try to avoid it because I'd rather go out and buy my stuff rather than order online. I wouldn't have found the EP anywhere else though, so I had no choice this time.

haha I don't think you could ever get bored of Will's voice. I don't think I could either, like I'm not a die hard fan by any means but holy goodness, that dude has a voice. There's this video of him recording Runaway in the studio and omfg, I listen to it like 10 times in a row whenever I put it on.

Ohhhhhhhhhh yessss, I would love more piano, I'd like more piano out of a lot of bands actually.
