does anyone buy comps anymore? only one i can think of in the past few years that actually meant something was the "in honor" comp, it seems like purevolume and such made the comp a thing of the past.

How often do compilations include ALL UNSIGNED ACTS AND UPCOMING TALENT?

Because, me as an owner have never seen it done. I'm also an owner who goes agains the grain on people's doubts of what could work and what cannot work.

That's just me. I run this label the way I want to and am not afraid to answer any question thrown or asked.

i didn't mean that in a negative way, i debated putting out a comp awhile ago with all the profits going to charity, but was just afraid no one would buy it unless it had a special feel to it, like all the tracks being unreleased / weren't available online.

Why so defensive? :headshake So you run the label the way you want, that sounds arrogant and childish. As a business person I would think you would want to come across a bit better, especially, since you are just starting out.

PS. Comps do have to have something worthy about them to make them popular or worth buying. Some cause or something that the money is going for. Especially, if there are unsigned bands that no one is really interested in listening to or would rather just go online and listen to them.

Compilations are the best possible way for upstart labels and up and coming bands to get their names out...it benefits both parties. Plain and simple!

i have a habit of scrolling down the absolutepunk.net front page really fast and due to my bad vision, i honestly thought the bands named was "don't pass gas." i was like "dope" but then i realized that my eyes fooled me. i don't even know anymore.

This is one of my favorite bands(I actually set them up to getting on the comp.) and frankly, you all should check them out, especially once new songs get recorded. They're gonna be amazing.

and ignore the kid who said the comp. was ruined with this band, all he does is bash them cause he's sad his band isn't as good as them.
