I'd get on your ass for not doing a search, but really who would expect a thread like this to already exist (fyi, it does). But anyway, I'll play along. I rock a Powerbook G4, couldn't be happier.

macs are good for video editing and similar sorts of things, but as far as anyone who actually knows anything about computers is concerned, they're crap.

If the only thing I ever wanted to do with my computer was play / edit music & video files, I think a mac would be ideal, unfortunately... I use my computer for other things as well so I will never own a Mac.

oh man. the first computer i ever used had that on there....number munchers/word munchers...and old school oregon trail.


i have a mac now. a powerbook g4. its def. much better that the shitty pcs i used to use. plus- its better with audio production. But pcs are okay. they can be useful if its just used as a word processor, and nothing else lol. the bad thing about a pc is that it has really bad security features so they get viruses and popups and stuff like that really really quickly.

my friend has an ibook .. and the kid across my screet has a mac mini, a g5 for the family, a power book for the dad and a ibook for the wife

£249 for Photo and £209 for plain ol' iPod 20gig.

Microsoft launches Windows XP campaign with ad made on Apple Mac

Microsoft Corp. today kicked off a new global awareness campaign designed to "showcase how people can explore, enhance and pursue their passions with Windows XP and related technology." It's sort of an "ignore that Apple Mac OS X Tiger stuff" misdirection play.

Microsoft so thoughtfully posted one of the new "Start Something" ads that's part of the new global awareness campaign for Microsoft Windows XP and invited users to click the image for high-res version.

Well, various MacDailyNews readers clicked to view the image, downloaded it and checked the file's info by using iPhoto's "Get Info" and other methods to view the file's EXIF information which shows it was created with "Adobe Photoshop CS Macintosh."

As one reader wrote, "Isn't it ironic? A picture launching their big campaign designed to steal the thunder from Apple - was made on a Mac!"

I read last year or 2003, that Microsoft had a shipment of Apple Powermac G5s or even G4s then delievered to Redmond, and Microsoft was sooo pissed, they fired the guy who let tthe secret out on his blog.

Sorry to bump an old..-ish thread, but I was wondering this: is there MSN for Macs other than aMSN? aMSN is the only one I can find and it doesn't work all that well, like it won't let me accept file transfers and stuff. What do you guys use?
