Has anyone here checked out Spotify? It's super awesome tool to discover new music. Well, in short - it's a music streaming service where you can access like a lot of music for free, and legal.

That sucks. Normally its the other way round and the US can stream stuff but not anywhere else.

Allows you to stream pretty much any song immediately for free.

i read about this is in lefsetz blog. i have yet to check it out thoroughly. i thought i remember it not being available in the US yet.

Sounds like Pandora except better. Too bad it doesn't work in the U.S.

They plan on making it available in the US but there isn't a time frame set out for it to happen. And i think it will become a subscription thing in the US...

Which tbh is probably the way that music is going to end up being distributed in the long run

I just got this, so I haven't really had a chance to try it out yet. It looks pretty cool, but what I was most looking forward to was the radio part. I have Spotify Free, and apparently the radio feature is only available for Spotify Open (which is free), and the paid subscriptions.

I tried to get Spotify Open, but it says it's not available. I'm just wondering if we'll be able to get that in the future maybe? Anyone have any info on this?

American labels area bitch about licensing etc. Especially with the whole "free" concept:P


Anyways, I have it. It is indeed revolutionary for online music. The interface is flawless, the lack of buffer time is awesome. Great service.
