A funl pop/post-punk revival band from Montreal, their latest - Red, Yellow & Blue - is one of the most charming albums of the year. Give them a look see.

I could've sworn I made a Born Ruffians thread a few months ago but no one responded. This band is good stuff and I would've seen them if not for my friend picking me up late and us getting to the festival late.

Yikes, I will admit, I didn't partake in a search, so I apologize. I'm glad there's another fan on the board. Very fun band who I had the opportunity to see live a month ago and rest assured, they're phenomenal.

Same. I'm not quite sure where, but I'd include it somewhere in a Top 25 position. It's very good.

Don't they have an album coming out early this year?

Fuck, I haven't listened to them since, man, a year ago. They're still okay. I'm not as charmed by them as I was. I'll pick up a new album when it comes out, though.

I'm clearly to lazy to search for this. When's it out?

Yeah, they're pretty bland indie pop. I found 'em catchy, but it's no different from any other generic Pitchfork Pop. I liked them a lot a few years ago, and I'm not doing that "save face" thing, but I've listened to a lot more junk since then, and they're just kinda pedestrian now.

I'll still listen to the new record. I'm sure there will be something hummable and that cute barista at the rival coffee shop will probably blow me if I jock 'em.

This perfectly sums up my feelings for them, and all the other bands listed in the thread title. It's just very easy listening, almost no challenge is required. Which can be a breath of fresh air, especially consider the post rock and math rock phase I am currently going through. But still, it's more of just fun music for me right now.
