Yeah, it's just a two day fest thing in Chicago. It's not a tour. It seems like they've got a line-up hidden up their sleeves just waiting to be announced. It must be one of those things where it's all the hot acts at the moment or so many acts with an insane underground fanbase (i.e. Coachella). Either way, I think this is going to be something people feel they have to make.

Hopefully this will make up for not being able to see Bamboozle. :(

Lollapalooza has always been a joke.
They are annoucing the line up and stuff now, but i can get a good radio signal from my dorm. Even though they dont offically have premission to do this, with the money they are donating $350,000 they are most likely going to be approved. I got an email for last night to buy ticketsand for a 2 day ticket it will be $85. they wern't offereing one day tickets yet.

So far, it's Weezer and the Killers. That's all I know of the lineup thus far.

The initial schedule is up at the moment. I'd C&P it, but it's Flash and that's just not doable. Right now I'm just not seeing enough to grant $85 for two days. And let's not forget, Warped Tour is also on the first day.

That's a pretty sick lineup.
I want to go. :(

While the city may be FINALLY attempting to recruit some decent musical draws, I think my allegiance may have to stay with Warped as a reward for consistently bringing a decent festival to Chicago annually (even if the full line-up is a little less than stellar this year). After all, it's seems like they barely even try with Taste of Chicago.

I ABSOLUTELY agree - awesome lineup, hopefully they are smart enough to release 1-day tickets - I'm just saying I would feel safer supporting an annual festival than a one-shot deal, as enticing as it may be.

I really want to go. Death Cab, Arcade Fire, Blonde Redhead, the Walkmen, the Killers...But $85 (plus charges) is a bit steep. Especially when the only two bands I really want to see are death cab and the arcade fire.
I might as well just go to the Pitchfork show the weekend before for only $10 a day.

i think people are overlooking the fact that this is in the middle of chicago. whats the last 60+ band fest that was in the middle of a city? This ambiance will be nuts, and well worth 100 dollars. well worth 200.
