View Full Version : Bands You Love, But Keep Secret [Fess Up]

MusicTalks

Remember when you were HS and would never admit to liking <insert suspect band/artist name here>? Well, at times, AP.net can be just as harsh as HS, but then again, you can't get physically assaulted here on AP.net. So, that's a plus.

Edit: This = a fun thread. We know that no one is ashamed of the music they like.

@Melkor - thank you, I think that you are one of the only ones that understands the concept. Most people will say who they like, and freely, but sometimes it's taboo to say certain ones out loud. It's more of a fun thread than a serious one, hence the ones who get it. Rock on.

Depends on which metalcore bands you listen to, really. Some are OK. Some are embarassing. If the bands first record came out 2004ish-present, it's very likely it is bad.

My reasoning is this: I could make a 3 page list of artists I listen to and consciously enjoy that most people on this site would either laugh at or be embarrassed to admit they might like too. However, I don't personally find it shameful or embarrassing, so I don't list them.

Wow, are you really this up tight? It is supposed to be a light-hearted thread for conversation, not for people to be like 'I'm not ashamed of my music.' And what you said, up top there, is the entire point of the thread, for the hell of it.

My only point is that this thread was set up to be a light-hearted post, but people come into the thread and say that they aren't ashamed of their music. Everyone has a band or artist that other people might poke fun at, and that's what this is all about. It's not about whether people are ashamed of their music.

You get mad love from me. Check out my 'Bands' info on my profile, mad love to BSB. My wife's sister had their first album in 1997 and I was in HS back then. And way back when, it was totally taboo to admit you liked a boy band, if you were a dude. So, for awhile I denied that I did just because it was annoying to hear about it. By the time I graduated, I was like 'Fuck ya'll' and have been a fan ever since. So, yea, you got a fan right here.
