so that records stores here can charge like 30 bucks for a cd that we can get here minus one or two songs for like 10-13 bucks. I'm convinced it's part of a major music industry conspiracy to get people like myself to spend more money and not be able to purchase other cds.
...then again spending my money on an expensive cd keeps me clean and sober... no money=no fun

What is the best site for buying UK albums from the US?
I just found a site that seems really good. They don't have Crimson listed yet, but their prices aren't bad. www.musicselection.com. Shipping's cheap, too. I just calculated it with the Blink-182 Australian CD and shipping was only $1.49.

Here is Amazon UK's listing (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009A21TY/qid=1114531126/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/202-1363422-6595833). Is it easy ordering from Amazon UK to the US.

first of all, how do you know that? has anyone heard it yet? i would like to hear some stuff...
and secondly: WHAT THE HELL? Why does the UK always get more songs? It's always american bands throwing out freebies to the UK and Japan. Why? They tour mostly in America, they get fans mostly in American, and thier revenue is pulled mostly from American purchases and support...So why do bands continue to help out those that don't give anything to them? I guess that is a cool thing, but not when those that DO support them get the shaft (or have to steal the music online cause they can't find it anywhere.)
anyone got a REAL opinion on that? and can someone link me to hear some music off this release? I love AK3 they rock my evil face off.

There's actually a financial/marketing reason behind the now common practice of including bonus tracks on overseas releases. I don't remember the details exactly, but I think the basic jist is that labels need to give overseas distributors need to give overseas buyers some kind of incentive to not just import the disks from the U.S. Adding tracks like these keeps these distributors in buisness.
I could be totally wrong about that though.

i think the vast majority of AP forum people have heard the whole cd since march...
how come there are never any U.S. only bonus tracks?
US only bonus tracks would not be abonus to us since it'd be like the regular cd. There r limited edition cds sometimes, and all that...

why is it that american bands always release cds with bonus tracks in the UK and Japan? does that make any sense? It's because we have to pay 3 times as much as you for cd's over here and ALK 3 probably feel sorry for us.

i have to disagree...i haven't heard it and i love alk3 to death. i am waiting for it to come out to hear it and support them all the way. also it will be just more of a suprise i guess to hear it when it comes out on cd.
also did they change the release date or is that the one for the uk cd? because the one here is for the next day right?

Europe and Japan get extra tracks because they're more of a niche market. The labels know the CDs will sell well in America, but they feel they have to do a little something extra to ensure that they sell well elsewhere. Besides, do you know how expensive CD's are in the UK? Last time I was there, I payed £16 for the Blink-182 TOYPAJ cd, which was about $24 USD at the time. If their CD prices are still around £16, then that's over $30 USD today.

yeah all the points brought up seem right. I guess another reason for the bonus tracks would be that those people dont get to see the band as often as we do and its their way of hookin them up out of kindness or something.

Actually, it's to pay back fans overseas, because America gets more tours and shows from these bands. Nice try though.

The UK does have good bands. Its just that there never featured on ap.net or ever tour the US.

ACTUALLY smartass, you are wrong. It's a marketing ploy to attract more attention to the album in countries where the band has a smaller fanbase than that of the United States. This is the reasoning behind why we do not recieve extra tracks in a country where their record will sell regardless.

the clash released u.s. only tracks
Also Blink Did the 3 cd thing for TOUPAJ, while here in te uk we only got the yellow cd which had fuck a dog, dont tell me that its over and time to break up (i think if that wasnt actually on the album)
we didnt get the christmas one or the one about grampa.
Also to that guy that said that in the US they get all there money and shit, and dont give a shit about the bands, u dont have a clue. they probably put the bonus tracks on there as a reward for all the fans and revenue they get off us and a way of saying sorry for touring here once every two years (if that).

Yeah, but you got the Man Overboard music video on the CD as well as "Time To Break Up" which was on the red one here in the US and "What Went Wrong." The only reason I know that is because I was in the UK when TOYPAJ had just come out and bought it there. The UK version is better than the three individual ones in the US. I've also got the jacket, and "When you fucked grandpa" is not exactly something you be sad you missed. "Fuck a Dog" is a funnier track.

is anyone else pissd that in nyc the get up kids farewell show and the alkaline show will be happening on the same night? i had to get tickets to the guk show at starland, i hate going to jersey for shows,
