This album is amazing. Good guys too. Althought I am a little pissed that when I went to my local best buy this morning before work, they did not have Phantoms in stock. I also had them check shipments or inventory and they said they don't carry this cd. :( Oh well, I guess I'll go to tower.

I ordered this CD off of SonyMusicStore so I could get the bonus CD with the three acoustic songs. I got the CD yesterday, along with a sheet of paper saying they didn't ship the bonus CD, and that I had to wait longer. I've had this album for a few months now, and the only reason I ordered it online was because I wanted the bonus CD... not to mention it's an amazing album. I opened it and tried to put it on my iTunes, but I couldn't! It wouldn't let me! It has some program on it that only allows me to burn the CD THREE times! What the hell is going on with these record companies?! If anyone knows how I could put it on my iTunes, please let me know.
yep, 10.99 at my best buy too.

i was surprised that they put "Permanant" on Phantoms.. although it is such a great song that it didn't bother me too much.

Yeah, I went to Best Buy, and I said to the dude do you have the new Acceptance CD, he goes to the computer and types "exept" into the search, then he tried "exceptance" I said wait a sec, it's spelled with ACC he gave me some look like I was bleeding all over the computer or something. Then they didn't have it. So I went to Borders and they didn't have it, then I went to Target, Nope. I finally found it at FYE for 9.99. Yeah, it was a long, hard journey, but it was well worth it in the end.

Here's the deal on CopyControl, the gayest form of market control EVER on MP3 players. If you have a Macintosh computer, you're good to go. iTunes can import it, as CopyControl does not work on the Mac. If you have a Windows computer, they only let you copy the files that are on the CD to your computer in restricted WMV format, so you can only play them in players that allow the WMV format. iTunes is not one of them. In that regard, you can only play them on MP3 players that support "playsforsure" from Windows Media. The iPod is not one of them. Personally, I have an iPod, and this whole thing is gay. Then they pass the blame on to Apple for not opening up their software and hardware to the WMV format. Personally, I think Sony is trying in a cheap attempt to kick Apple off of the market. Goddamn music nazi's. But here's an e-mail I got from Sony Support about how to get the songs into iTunes on a PC. Enjoy.
Thank you for contacting Sony BMG Online.
We appreciate your purchase of our CD and apologize for any inconvenience. Please follow the instructions below in order to move your content into iTunes and onto an iPod.
[Macintosh]
If you have a Macintosh computer you can copy the songs using your iTunes Player as you would normally do.
[Windows]
If you have a PC place the CD into your computer and allow the CD to automatically start. If the CD does not automatically start, open your Windows Explorer, locate the drive letter for your CD drive and double-click on the LaunchCD.exe file located on your CD.
Once the application has been launched and the End User License Agreement has been accepted, you can click the Copy Songs button on the top menu.
Follow the instructions to copy the secure Windows Media Files (WMA) to your PC. Make a note of where you are copying the songs to, you will need to get to these secure Windows Media Files in the next steps.
Once the WMA files are on your PC you can open and listen to the songs with Windows Media Player 9.0 or higher or any compatible player that can play secure Windows Media files, such as MusicMatch, RealPlayer, and Winamp.
Using any of the compatible players noted above, you can then burn the songs to a CD. Please note that in order to burn the files, you need to upgrade to or already have Windows Media Player 9, MusicMatch 8, or Media Center 10.
Once the CD has been burned, place the copied CD back into your computer and open iTunes. iTunes can now rip the songs as you would a normal CD.
Please note an easier and more acceptable solution requires cooperation from Apple, who we have already reached out to in hopes of addressing this issue. To help speed this effort, we ask that you use the following link to contact Apple and ask them to provide a solution that would easily allow you to move content from protected CDs into iTunes or onto your iPod rather than having to go through the additional steps above:

I had absolutely no problem ripping it on Windows with EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) . Maybe that will work for people that can't get it to work. Also apparently EAC disables AutoRun, so having EAC open before inserting the CD is probably important to circumventing the protection.
Or just use the MP3s pretty much everyone has. But I like having my own rips.
They charged me $10.99 too. I saw it on bestbuy.com for $8.99. I should have ordered it online and picked it up at that store, I guess. I don't think you can use your Reward Zone card on online purchases though. Lame.

i dropped $10.99 for it at Best Buy after reading the initial post this afternoon (and was late to work because of it)
I can only hope they mark Fall Out Boy down to at least $9.99 next week.

I was gonna say when I read this, "Well, I got screwed." 'cause I payed 10.99 for it at Best Buy not an hour ago, hah.
But I'm glad I'm not the only one, at least. Still sucks that they'd advertise it as that and not do it. Unless it was just select stores.

Same here! I had to go to a different Best Buy where they had 1 Acceptance cd left. I had to go to a local indie store to buy The Receving End of Sirens, where I paid more for it.

The fact of the matter is that I paid $13 for it at Sony's Music store and I should not have to find a way around this limited ripping or burning process. I own over 600's so its not like I don't support the fucking label or bands or whatever. I should not be limited to what I can do w/ my purchased cd in terms of what format I can or cannot make them into. I will seriously think twice about buying records if I have to go through all this crap to put it on my iPod.
BTW -> my opinion on the physical cd has nothing to do w/ the music; its a really amazing cd!

Copy Control blows. One more reason to use a Mac. And I love how they try to put blame on Apple, you know there is an easier way to move cds into itunes, its called dont copy control it sony. I mean you basically told people how to bypass the copy controlled feature anyway, so why are you even doing it?
And I hope everyone talking about how they already have this on their itunes because they downloaded it, realises this cd is the way the band wanted you to hear it, and it is much different(no pun intended) from the leaked rough mixes. Besides the fact I think everyone can vouch for what amazing guys Acceptance are, and how they have worked their asses off non stop for the past 2 years(and yes way longer) getting ready for this release. If you downloaded this album, and are still enjoying it, you owe it to the band to drop 10 bucks on buying it. YOU OWE IT TO THEM. You obviously like it enough to still have it on yr computer/iPod, the test drive is over, time to be a real music fan, you had months to save up.
EDIT: and you know one last thing, if people didnt leak shit, and didnt steal music, and actually bought the music they downloaded, the record companies wouldnt have to do this. It is also another reason there isnt as much protection inforced on Macs people know they are less likely to go on P2P networks and share files, as well as they are usually more artistic people who support art for what it is. So it is no ones fault to blame but all of you who downloaded it.
