Got my first one ever this summer. I was so pissed that I ruined my perfect streak. I speed a lot, but I'm usually always keeping an eye out for cops. One that finally caught me was a motorcycle cop. I even saw him too, but I need new contacts and I wasn't quite sure if it was a cop until it was too late.

I thought I got lucky and the cop forgot to enter it in the sytem because I tried to pay it for a few weeks and it never showed up in the system during the period it was supposed to. Showed up a while later, though. Bastards.

umm I think it was $200? I don't remember because it cost me $535 to buy all the points down drop the ticket. I was going 26 over in a residential area.

I just cleared a ticket I got when I was driving down to SB with my mom to move into my apartment in September. It was so ridiculous. The cop was a former IV foot patrol officer and when I told him I was moving into my new apt in IV, he laughed and said, "Oh, I hope you don't live on Del Playa" and I was like, "No, I actually live on Sabado Tarde." Then, right there in front of my mom who I'm sure does not even have a general idea of what goes on in IV, he says, "Oh, that's even worse!" Soooo awful.

the worst feeling in the world is one of those speed traps where it goes from around 40 to 25 and you dont see the sign and the cop is just sitting and waiting. that happened to me a few weeks ago coming off the highway into my town. ugh

I've never really understood why people speed excessively. I routinely go 10-15 over (depending on the road/area of course), but rarely any more than that. I know you can still get a ticket for doing stuff like that, but when I hear about people getting tickets for doing like 90 in a 45, I just think, "what the fuck? You deserve that."

Then again, I don't drive that much, and I basically never see cops in the area around my house.

Haha, I know right. It's actually kind of a funny story. I was with three friends. We had just got done gambling at a casino on an indian reservation using fake ids (ie, other people's id's that sort of look like each of us. believe it or not, it's worked every time but once, and we went there like a total of 5 times). We were 17 at the time, and so the cop could have gotten us for ciggarettes and the fake ids, but my friend pocketed our packs/ids and the cop didn't even bother to search him, which is unusual considering he's black. well, obama-black. the cop said the road was a big meth trafficking road, which isn't surprising.

got a speeding ticket in maryland last december. i was doing at least 70 in a 55 (trying to keep up with my wife's stepdad on the way back to NC-- " don't worry, i have a radar detector" --yeah, sure). but the guy wrote it for 9 over so the ticket was only $80. and maryland has no reciprocity with NC so my insurance didn't go up. ha.

I have never gotten a speeding ticket yet *knocks on wood* but I did get pulled over once over the summer for having a lei and a graduation tassle hanging in my mirror. The cop told me how it was an obstruction to view, which I know is true but it was considered a fucking moving violation, therefore I got a $75 ticket. (I mean you think I could get a warning). He then told me that I needed to get out of the car so he could take a picture of it, slightly humilating, yes. My parents wanted me to go to court, so I went to court and I was then informed the judge would not talk to anybody with facial jewelry, lucky me. I just had gotten my nose pierced a few weeks before. Therefore, I had to get a continuance. They give me a new date, go figure I can't make it since I am down at school. My parents pay the ticket, but since I skipped my court date they put out a warrent for my arrest. So then after numerous phone calls and wasting money, everything finally got taken care of. I thought it was ridiculous. All because of a fucking lei and a graduation tassle.
