You heard me, I want to hear some submissions! Singing, Dancing, all that.

I'm gonna say Andrew W.K.'s I Get Wet would probably be the greatest musical ever.
There are 4 songs with "Party" in the title, high school musical can suck it!

Let's hear it.

Sorry bud, whole album or nothing.

May I suggest City of Evil? Although I can't stand that band that album is much more cohesive and I can think of lots of satanic properties to put into it compared to their self titled.

well just if you were to pick one album by them for it, the self titled has more depth and meaning but this is a really good idea for thread i really wanna see other peoples answers! and compare haha

TREOS - Between The Heart And The Synapse
Emery - The Question
Say Anything - In Defense of the Genre

Those could easily be made into musicals, and would work good too.

This may be an unlikeable choice by many.

But I can see songs from the Joshua Tree being a musical.
Especially where the streets have no name.

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. I've thought about it a lot. It'll have nothing to do with Anne Frank.

I'm sure it could be done. They could rearrange the songs and actually make it into a story. After seeing Across The Universe, I feel that anything is possible in that aspect.

Across the Universe was a collective shit on musicals.

No, in fact it was eaten by shit monsters, shit out by the shit monster and then the shit monster ate the shit, and an even shittier monster ate the shit monster and the shittier monster vomited out the first shit monster, who managed to shit out across the universe but was inevitably eaten by the shittier monster who then shit it out again.

alot of people hate them, but i would love to see Coheed and Cambria's IKSOSE:3 written into a musical of sorts.

don't care much for their new stuff but second stage turbine blade and the aforementioned were GREAT albums and you're on crack if you say otherwise.

It wouldn't work for the same reason In Defense wouldn't work. Are people supposed to go to the theatre to watch the story of a boy falling in love with a girl and then losing her, without anything mildly interesting going on?

huh? i think it's perfectly set up like a musical. It has always reminded me of Les Miserables whenever I hear it. I would kill to see TDH set up on a stage like that.

Musicals need more than just good music.

Aside from having really good music in a linear story, I don't see how it would work as a musical. It has no rising action, climax, conclusion, etc.

I love you.

I second IDOTG and Decomposer. And even though it was written as a musical, I really want to see Razia's Shadow staged, t'would be so cool.
I also add: De-Loused In The Comatorium and Hospital Music.

Jesse Lacey would play the lead character because he's the only one who I've ever heard do a decent NMH cover.

I'm actually NOT a fan of the covers he has done. I really think the lead character would be a girl, anyway.

Andrew WK - I Get Wet was what I was coming in to say. How awesome that the OP put it first.
Anyway:
Sgt. Peppers,
Pet Sounds,
the Dethalbum,
Reign in Blood,
Rockin' the Suburbs,
the Stranger

Yeah, I saw it on the first page, and wanted to include it in my list. I bet it would be fantastic. I also like the idea of Rockin' the Suburbs by ben folds as a musical. There's a lot of variety on that record.
