I figured since every band on the face of the earth (except brand new) is playing Bamboozle, it would be a good idea to make a thread about cool things that happened during a set or just in general. Who'd you meet? Who covered what? Who sounded great? Who sounded terrible? And so on and so forth.

I met the guys from Mae and the guys from The Academy Is... They were all so nice. Espcially the guys from Mae, we were talking about how they were going off to Europe tomorrow.
But I have plenty of stories.
And let me state, I hate fucking crowd surfers.

Well, I had to leave early due to an emergency so I didn't get to see the entire show like I was planning on. That was the only really bad thing about tonight.
Say Anything, Mae, and the Academy Is were all great. They were better than great. They were amazing.
Then we saw part of like The Fight because we were waiting to see The Spill Canvas who apparently switched times so we saw part of This Day And Age, but then we ran off to the main stage to see Hidden In Plain View. The main stage was where all the action happened. We started from the back of the room and headed towards the front. We got pushed and knocked and kicked and hit. And it sucked sooo bad. But then once we got to the front it was alright I guess. Then Rufio came on. And I was getting hit so much that I couldn't even concentrate on the band. I was trying to be more conscious of my safety than watching the band. So many crowd surfers got thrown on top of me and I thought I was going to kill someone. I'm 5'2, I can't support a guy that is like twice my size. And then the Early November came on and the crowd was ten times worse. I actually got thrown to the ground a few times. But the nice thing was the people around me were picking us up. At one point 10 people got thrown to the ground at the same time. And I was one of the ten of course..
But from what I could see and hear the bands were all awesome. I saw a few more than that, but I'm so tired I can't remember details and stuff. I'll be a better story teller tomorrow.
Oh and it rained the entire day. So I came home soaked.
Oh and Pete Wentz is a total stage whore. He was on the stage with like everyone.
And I think I got every free cd sampler and/or compilation known to man.

I didnt go today but Friday was fun.
Firstly, this fest isn't organized very well. Spitalfield, the first band playing outside, was supposed to go on at 3:30 but didnt go on til 5. So because of the delay every outside band got only 15 mins instead of 30. The main stage was on a delay too, all the times were messed up.
Spitalfield - played 2 old ones and 3 new ones
The Receiving of Sirens - were good, wish they could have played longer.
Blood Brothers - first main stage band i watched. they played really good, mostly stuff off crimes and 2 or 3 off piano island.
Honorary Title - band i wanted to see the most. played "points underneath" "bridge and tunnel" "everything I once had" and one more that i can't remember right now.
The Goodwill - played all new stuff which was cool because i haven't heard the new ones live yet.
Motion City Soundtrack - caught the last 4 or 5 songs. they were fun like always
Straylight Run - good set, everyone sang and held up their lighters and such.
Nightmare of You - played a few demos and a couple new songs, one being called "dear scene, i wish i was deaf" which was rad.
Anberlin - mostly new stuff. the singer kept saying we were in New York though. 3 or 4 times he said "we love it here in New York" or "we're coming back here to New York to do a video shoot next month" at the end of the set someone told him we were in Jersey, i bet he felt dumb.
Kevin Devine - best set of the night. him and his goddamn band got to play for a little extra longer since they were the last outside band to go on.
After that we went in to catch the last few minutes of Thrice but the security guy said the fire marshall wasnt letting anyone else in so we had to go home.
I'm going Sunday and I'll bring my camera to take pictures of the outside bands so i'll post them here when i get a chance.

i went friday and saturday, but i'm gonna keep my review to just saturday
Say Anything- what a great kickoff for the day. Max rules and the crowd got into very quickly.
Honorary Title acoustic set- soo good, even if 3/4 of the crowd was starry-eyed girls
Number One Fan- i'm not a big fan of theirs, but i thought they were pretty decent.
The Academy Is...- VERY impressed at how awesome they played. Pete from FOB and sang for a little bit.
This Day and Age- the only reason I saw this band was because of the messed up timing. they didn't do anything for me.
Spill Canvas- technical difficulties + crowd of stupid 14 year old girls, booing whenever new songs were playing and chanting for nick to play "the tide"= a ruined set
New Amsterdams- went into this one by accident...but WOW. they're amazingly talented and even played an acoustic set outside their merch table while everyone was locked out of seeing FSF. what great guys.
Hot Rod Circut- i wasn't a fan before either, but by the time their set was over and their bassist was saying goodbye to the band (since it was his last performance with them) i found myself tearing. sigh. once i get obsessed with them, i'm gonna kick myself in the head for not getting into them earlier.
suprise acoustic Straylight Run- i stayed in the paramount theater (where NA and HRC played) because i was sitting in the third row and had no intention of waiting in a huge ass line to catch some of Early November's set. so i figured the "Friends of Bamboozle" had a slight chance of being a band I liked. I am a HUGE fan of Straylight Run and freaked when I realized they were playing. John, Michelle, and Will came out, annoucing they were doing an acoustic performance. I couldn't help but yell with a few other random members of the crowd "Where's Jesse?" even though he didnt come out, I was blown away by their perfomance. sigh.
[B]Piebald- best band and set ever. i love you, piebald.
JamisonParker- SUCH a letdown. i was in the front row and couldnt see the members. soo pissed
Fall Out Boy- typical good performance by them. nothing new.
overall- the delays and disorganization completely threw off my schedule and i missed the main bands i went there to see. but i was not dissapointed at all, even with the rain.

Alright, here's a bit of a better review of the bands I saw.
Say Anything This was the first time I've ever seen them play. And I enjoyed the album ...Is a Real Boy, but I wasn't obsessed over it or anything. After seeing these songs play live, and seeing how Max Bemis got the crowd going and participating my respect and love for this band grew a lot more. It was a great way to open up the festival and pick up people's morale after waiting in that line for a really long time and being kind of pissed about the rain.
Mae Mae's set was pretty awesome too. They played a few singles off their newest release, The Everglow, and a few off of Destination: Beautiful. The energy was definitely there and the whole crowd was feeling the set. I also noticed that the lead singer, Dave, makes funny faces when he sings. Oh yes, and he holds up his pointer finger a lot as to say "We're number one" haha. And when he signs an album cover for you, he puts an exclamation point after his name?
The Academy Is... Another awesome set. The lead singer was pretty cool and pretty active moving around the stage. From what I could see the other guys in the band weren't doing that much to get the audience going, but it's okay. They played a few songs. It seemed like a pretty short set to me. They were actually going one last song, and go over time but then realized that they would get in trouble for it. So they let the audience pick the last song. "Classifieds" won out. I was slightly disappointed "Black Mamba" wasn't played. I also met the lead singer and he was pretty kick ass. Totally nice and cool about everything. And also wore a sick sweater. haha.
HIPV, Rufio, The Early November. I'm putting all these bands in one category just because they all played one right after another and I didn't real get to enjoy them to the full potential that was there. The crowd was rough for these guys. Maybe it was just where I was? I don't know. HIPV played all music from their latest cd, including "Bleed for You", "Twenty Below", "Garden Statement", and some others I can't remember because I wasn't paying attention to the band that closely half of the time. I was more concerned about saving my head or something. Rufio was pretty awesome as well from what I saw in the crowd. They played a lot of songs from "1985". And then I belive there was two songs from "Perhaps, I suppose", those songs being "Above Me" and "In My Eyes". Those guys rock out like "real rock stars" as the 12 year old next to me put it. The Early November failed to disappoint me. The majority of the songs were off "The Room's Too Cold", but they played two songs off of the EP "For All Of This". Songs included: I want to hear you sad, and some other one I forgot because I proceeded to fall to the ground with a crowd surge. 20 people fell to the ground during that one song.
Merch Tables were a dream come true. I got a few shirts and sooo many free samplers. The organization of the event was poor. People not knowing the actual set times was a major problem. The weather sucked. The bands I met were really awesome. Scene kids who pull your head in just to make out with suck. Guys who pull you off the floor and kick other guys who try to pull you into mosh pits rock. But overall the night wasn't too bad I suppose.

hmm my bamboozle experiance..
it took more than 2 hours to get through new york city of the way there... soo... i missed With Honor, Anterrabae.. which were big reasons why i wanted to go.. so that sucked
i also had the flu and a sinus infection so that sucked because i felt like shit the whole time and i was really tired the whole time. so i watched Haste The Day which fucking kicked ass.. they were amazing live, they sounded great just like they do on the cd. awesome.. so after that i watched a few other not so great bands here and there.. then i waiting in line to the convention hall cause i wanted to go upstairs to get some merch. i got some cool shit. then i sat down in the bleachers and made sure i had a good seat for thrice, so i sat through finch.... and may i say how funny it was to see kids to try to hardcore dance to that. thrice was awesome though. good set.
Saturday sucked cause it was raining, i was freaking freezing... i saw The Bled and Saosin 2 times each tho woot woot. the bled shredded. saosin was saosin. i saw some other bands but im too tired to type them out..
overall it was good to see some bands.. but it was really sad to see what this has all come to.. cause there were def. a lot of douche bags there.. Also this event i felt was wayy to disorganized.. and i don't think its fair that i have to wait in line to get into the convention hall when i just want to get merch upstairs.. i waiting in line for 90 mins and we barely went anywhere.. i just wanted some merch.. errrg. there were def. some problems with this thing.. but i still had fun.

bump!
haha bitches.... i was at flipside today and many bands who played today and yesterday at bamboozle basically said "fuck bamboozle! this place is so much better. better weather... better food.... better girls"
times were actually ahead at one point. it was VERY well organized. it was awesome how main stage was set up. there was one huge stage split in 2. one was called "interpunk stage" the other was "YDOUthink? stage" what would happen was one band would play "YDU" and then after 3 minutes or so of a sound check the band on "IP" would start playing.the crowd could either shift over or just watch from the a lil further away from the other side. then as soon as "IP" was done another band starts on "YDU"
best transition all day.... spitalfield comes on and starts very quickly. after a great set they walk off. seriously in like 60 seconds over it starts playing "siren on the 101". things went EXTREMELY well.
also the early november retired "every night's another story" we have footage of their whole set. it was fucking chaos at the end since thats when they retired the song. we also have film of full HIPV set.... As Tall As Lions.... ummm My American Heart..... and a local band who we know called Your Last Collapse. also without direct audio with only 1 camera we got spitalfield and just 1 over it song. we also interview matt and tony from MCS.
TSL also put on a great set as the last headliner. during "surprise surprise" some assholes starting fighting. mike and matt both stopped playing right away. they looked at each other and were like "what the hell dude?" kenny didnt see and kept playing with tom. then they all stopped and yelled at the kids. "hey sorry i didnt think we were hardcore. i didnt know our music made people so angry". at another point someone yelled at kenny to cut his hair. he said back "hey why dont you cut your hair? you know what fuck that. keep your hair. why dont you just get a fucking life"
bands i saw total
-Your Last Collapse
-Jamison & Parker
-Gatsby's American Dream
-Spitalfield
-Over It
-Acceptance
-Hidden In Plain View
-My American Heart
-Rufio
-Motion CIty Soundtrack
-The Early November
-The Starting Line
my friends and i basically had back stage passes. so we met alot of the bands members. i chilled with kenny for a little while. i got pics with
-kenny , mike, matt from TSL
-joe from HIPV
-over it
-ace from TEN
-matt and tony from MCS
-and i forget
basically. you wish you were there.

Sunday review:
Hellogoodbye - fun set. played "touchdown turnaround" and people from madison and other bands got on stage and soaked the crowd with water guns.
Gym Class Heroes - travis dedicated the set to kelly clarkson. played for like 20 mins, all stuff off the full length.
Armor for Sleep - first main stage band I saw. they played mostly new stuff and a few off dream to make believe.
Ben of Lucero - played a solo acoustic set outside which was really awesome.
the Loved Ones - sooo good. they were hungover but they sounded awesome and played for a good half hour.
Say Anything - best set of the day. played 5 or 6 off is a real boy.
Boys Night Out - said it was only the 2nd time they played a show in a few months. sounded really good though. played stuff off the ep, full length, and about 3 new ones off Trainwreck which sounded heavier then Make Yourself Sick.
Circa Survive - got moved to the main stage due to a schedule change. really seeing them up on such a big stage since theyre relatively new. everyone seemed upset because underoath was supposed to play at this time. some kids were into it though. i enjoyed them though, was just weird seeing them in front of hundreads of people when i just saw them at a tiny club playing for a few dozen.
Underoath - all new stuff
Alkaline Trio - really good mix of songs. played 3 new ones, 2 off Good Mourning, 2 off Infirmary, 1 off Goddamnit, 1 off Catch Fire, and then "Warbrain" and "Jaked on Green Beers." Also, said they'd be doing a tour with My chemical Romance in the fall.
the Explosion - saw these guys just after Flogging Molly was finished up outside. Only got to play for 20 mins but they played stuff off Flash Flash Flash and the new one.
Bouncing Souls - got moved to the outside stage. played for about an hour, playing songs from just about every cd. they even had max weinberg come out and play drums on a Bruce Springsteen cover. awesome way to end the night.

Did anyone see me run naked across stage and kick that fa.g wearing eye make up in the face? He had a Chariot shirt on and I was ass naked. I knocked him out pretty good and then farted on his face, fuckin' hilarious. It kind of sucked coz like five Dad's and two Mom's came out of no where and held me down, and then called the cops. I was tripping pretty hard on peyote so I had no idea what I was doing.
The day before that I was walking around and I saw this group of douchebags with a video camera and a boom box video tapig each other hardcore dancing (the shirts they had on were Senses Fail, Norma Jean, Atreyu and for some reason this one posuer had a Volcom shirt on) .. I broke out my brass knuckes and punched this one motherfucker in the face and made him cry, and once again like 10 Dad's and a few Mom's came out of no where and tackled me to the ground.
got moved to the outside stage. played for about an hour, playing songs from just about every cd. they even had max weinberg come out and play drums on a Bruce Springsteen cover. awesome way to end the night.
NOW that is fucking awesome. I'm sure 99.9% of the kids were like "OMGGZOR IT'S CONAN'S DRUMMMMMERRRZZZZ"
FUCK OFF MATE.

I was there all three days and had a great fucking time. I wasn't bothered by the times as much as everyone else, because.. well, because shit happens. and you kids knew that the Covention Hall could only hold so many people. So why would you think you would get in right before Further Seems Forever played?
I was at the main stage most of the time, but left to go outside for some bands.
RELIENT K- Nothing special, just fun to listen to.
BLOOD BROTHERS- I never really listen to the Blood Brothers, but dammit, I am now. They played an amazing set and the crowd was really into it.
MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK- My second favorite set of the night. They played a few new songs from their upcoming album.
STRAYLIGHT RUN- A disappointment.
FINCH- The new album is going to rock. They played 3 or 4 songs from the new album. Rumor has it they're splitting after this album?
THRICE-Amazing. They sounded right on key. They said "This next song goes out to our good friends who couldn't be here today.." Thinking to myself.. okay.. cool.. next song. They started playing "The Quiet Things That.." by Brand New and everyone was going insane. They played some new songs as well, very well done.
SAY ANYTHING- Not a fan, so didn't really pay attention.
MAE- Um, they were alright. The CD is way better.
SILVERSTEIN- Cool.
A STATIC LULLABY- If you've seen them before, you know how they do.
HIDDEN IN PLAIN VIEW- Amazing.
RUFIO- I think they're horrible live.
THE EARLY NOVEMBER- I left during them.. but I forgot where I went.
LINCOLN AND HIS SPECIAL GUESTS?- It was a comedian, who wasn't very funny in my opinion.
MIDTOWN- "Napolean" is Midtowns tech guy, but I don't think anyone there knew that. But they put on a very good show.
SENSESFAIL- Very impressed. I saw them at Taste of Chaos and wasn't satisfied, but they definitly made up for it. PS. Fuck New Jersey and their two-stepers.
FURTHER SEEMS FOREVER- Wow. They attempted to play every song from their album together, but they were short on time. Carabas hair looked weird.
FALL OUT BOY- Very very fun.
THE STARTING LINE - Eh.
ARMOR FOR SLEEP- They were really good, but I didn't know they had an album out before "What To Do When.." so a few songs I didn't know.
CATCH 22- Left to go drink! Wooohoo for drunk kids!
ALL AMERICAN REJECTS- They swore a lot for being a little teeny band.
UNDEROATH- Around this time everyone was getting pissed off. Circa Survive took their place and the whole place was covered with pissed Underoath fans. But after Circa finsihed Underoath came out and tore the place up.
FLOGGING MOLLY- I love Flogging Molly. But they were outside! They said they were going to be too roudy and put them outside. The circle pit was amazing and everyone had a great drunk time. And there was a bum sleeping under the techs table and he didn't even know it! He peeked out around 7 and security was all over him. Really funny.
BOUNCING SOULS- Bouncing Souls were put outside as well and played the same time MCR played, so I missed them.
ALKALINE TRIO- I missed them because they were playing the same time as Molly.
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE- Really good set. Amazing crowd, fun times.

NOW that is fucking awesome. I'm sure 99.9% of the kids were like "OMGGZOR IT'S CONAN'S DRUMMMMMERRRZZZZ"
FUCK OFF MATE.
nah man, my chemical romance played the same time the souls did so all those kids were inside. the souls crowd was awesome.

Told through the eyes of my friends, the day after, since i was pretty drunk.
I wandered the streets and our hotel, and met Spitalfield and Mae. I burst into some random room and started talking to everyone possible.
Meanwhile, Mae's bassist says to my friend "He is really fucking drunk"
Walking the streets back to our hotel, I run into a guy and start talking to him. I ask if hes in a band, he says Armor For Sleep. Sunday, I meet him at his table and he says "You were out of your mind last night."
Walking to a party, I started opening bus doors. One of them was open, and I walked onto Fall Out Boy's bus. Some dude came right away and I started talking to him. He said "This is FOB's bus, and they're up in the hotel."
My friends tell me I then said, "Oh, I'm not in Fall Out Boy" and walked off.
Days Away came and partied in our hotel room, and funneled Beers on our balcony.
I met alot more people, who i will share later. But those are some of the funny stories

haha what? elaborate please.
During the Rufio set, during "Above Me" this kid decided he needed a make out buddy and I was kind of there. But I really didn't like him much, and I didn't talk to him at all. So next thing I know he starting pulling me towards to him to kiss me. But I slipped through his arms ran towards the stage. Silly Scene Kid.
