The Format (http://www.theformat.com/)- I am so thankful for the existence of this band. For me, their music is pure therapy. Everything they do is fun and moving, though they always manage to maintain an elegant beauty and that “twang” that keeps it fresh and exciting. I seriously suggest picking up their new EP. The new songs are overwhelmingly enjoyable and the older ones sound heavenly in acoustic. I cannot wait for this band to put out their next effort. Their music is timeless and could easily go down as classic.
The Higher (http://www.thehigher.com/)- Is Histrionics groundbreaking? No, far from it. But I fuckin’ love it right now. The vocals are so ideal, and the music has a lot of energy and emotion behind it. It might not be anything new, but it is excellent. The song “Histrionics” makes me wish the singer would start many side-projects. I love hearing his voice. One check one love.
Dolour (http://www.dolour.com/)- One of my favorite indie/pop acts. Shane Douglas is a master of writing old school pop tunes that are sweet as can be. I wish this band could get their five minutes because they have so much potential and wonderful songwriting capabilities. Dolour is a diamond in the rough.
Michael Jackson (http://www.michaeljackson.com/)- I’ve been spending a lot of time with The Ultimate Collection, and it has never been more clear how amazing this man’s music is/was. Too bad we don’t have more pop icons like this today. Despite all the shit that has occurred in his personal life, his music is where it’s at. It’s amazing how much emotion he can transmit through his voice and his songs touch on so many areas of the pop spectrum. Some of his slow songs even sound like Broadway showstopping numbers, they are just so inspired. So many have tried to emulate, but there will never be a greater pop singer, ever.
Dane Cook (http://www.danecook.com/)- In my opinion the best comedian out there right now. So fresh, so unique, and soooo hysterical. Seeing him live was a total blast, I've never laughed so hard. I got to meet him and he was the nicest guy and really appreciated all of the fans. I asked for a special autograph and he wrote "Dane Cook.... PICKLES AND CHRIST CHEX!" God Bless this man.

Ah, great recomendations.
The Format are as superb as it comes, blending pop-rock with folk-rock in an all too clever fashion. I'm glad these boys are finally earning the exposure and credit they deserve.
Also, The Higher... gosh, I'm with you. Histrionics may not be "ground braking", but it's amazing, nevertheless. The vocals intertwine seemlessly with the upbeat melodic tunes and are catchy as heck... "Oh, my God, for goodness sake!". I can't tell you how many times I've played their tracks on pureVOLUME in the past days. It's a rediculous amount, I'm sure.
Again, awesome recomendations. Although, MJ is pushing it, haha. However, you made up for it with the perscribing of Dane Cook.

Hahaha thanks dude. I think recommending MJ is my most controversial move thus far, can't wait to see the response.

fuck micheal jackson..hahaha him and his white glove. but really, everyone doesn't even remember what he did, as if he was never a musician and his whole life was raping little kids...aside from the children thing, he's a good guy....right?! but the format, i'd rather listen to them over micheal anyday. i loooove them. as well as the higher, two fuckin greattt bands. and dane cook, by far one of THE best comedians around right now. i agree totally. RIP mitch though, he was classic in my mind. such a tragedy.

Then someone always carves in 'Mike was here.' And then someone always has an arrow pointing to it saying 'Mike's a ******.' Then Mike comes back to check and he's like 'What?! I was here but I'm not a ******! I'm just trying to make a statement! Goddamn Jews!!!'

This might be the first set of rec's I agree with in total.
The only thing missing is "the 80s". A co-worker brought in a mix CD at with Billie Jean, Thriller and Smooth Criminal on it. Yeah, I was stepping on tiles, pretending they were lighthing up. It was hot.
I found this torrent of 35 80s compilations. There are so many hot jams, it's mindlblowing.
Oh yeah, and did somebody say "Shane Douglas"??

Such nice words! I'm glad all of you enjoyed my recs and agreed with me, all your comments made my day. I appreciate the feedback so much.
Have a good week!
Im getting rather irritated everytime I hear about this Format ep that I can't fucking have. Seriously. I mean constant talk about albums that people have caught early leaks of are annoying but I refuse to get my music this way. I am patient and I will pay for it when it comes out, but unless someone can help point me to an online merchant carrying it(which I hope someone finally does) I have absolutely no method of getting this album.
