Well, I managed to find time to get on here and post my rec's despite the fact that i've been moving all weekend, so they're gonna be short and sweet:

Fall Out Boy (http://www.falloutboyrock.com) - From Under The Cork Tree (Not NEARLY as bad as what you've read, but also not Take This To Your Grave)
Ashlee Simpson (http://www.ashleesimpsonmusic.com) - Autobiography (What, you wanna fight about it?)
Weezer (http://www.weezer.com) - Make Believe (Oh Rivers, thank you for making a good cd again!)
The Starting Line (http://www.startinglinerock.com) - Based On A True Story (My favorite album so far this year)

Finally, for this week's poll, don't get all pissed and say "Why wasn't so and so on there?" I just put the first nineteen albums I could think of, if your favorite isn't on there then reply with it.

For the poll I picked Thursday because it introduced me to the genre. I would say Jets To Brazil and SDRE are very close under that.

I forgot to post this in my rec's, but for the next two weeks whenever i'm at home i'm gonna be on dial up, so I won't be on a lot...

I picked Thursday because it is one of the first CDs that got me into the genre and it's incredible. I also wanted Relationship of Command but I wouldn't necessarily call that emo.

Man, none of the bands on this list are emo, so you could shut the fuck up. Who cares what he calls it, if you want real emo, I bet you don't even know who Saetia are.

(I'm not gonna go off that some of you may not know Saetia, but go check them out)

family guy is HIGHLY overrated. so many better, more original tv shows on television that go under the radar. and don't get me started on american dad.

it's all about pinkerton. hearing make believe just reminded me how good that record is. pure emo for the sake of self expression, not $$$.

I don't think Deja Entendu should be considered "classic emo". Your Favourite Weapon, sure. Deja? No way.

As for this poll, it's no contest for me. Nothing Feels Good, by a long shot.

Dude, you should really narrow down that survey... If you're talking about classic EMO albums, then it should go to Pinkerton (old) or Places you have come... (new), but the best records on that list are still Full Colapse and Domestica. Thing is, I still don't understand how Thursday or Cursive can be considered emo at all, since they clearly don't fit in the genre, much like ATDI, Refused and FATA. Where are the lost girl stories in Full Collapse, the whiny vocals in Domestica, or the simple melodies in either? Although I don't consider these albums emo, they clearly are, at least for me, the best ones on the list, and all around modern classics. Four years ago, when I was 19, both of these bands single-handedly helped broaden my musical horizon to ten times what it was before, and they've opened the gates for both insanely crappy and completely genius bands to crossover to the, ahem, "mainstream".

Would have been my vote as well.

I was very depressed today while watching Family Guy...I love the show...always have. Watched every episode they ever aired when they were originally on FOX but a Sunday night without Arrested Develoment isnt the same. FG was on its A game tonight but everything else is just 'meh' now since the brilliance of AD upped the standards.

Please, please, please help AD get renewed......

How is Fugazi, Rites of Spring, Hot Water Music, The Promise Ring, The Get Up Kids.

If the CD came out post 2002, it is not very well Classic.

ie. Deja Entendu (the band's most recent album)

But anyway, from your poll, I pick Full Collapse.

Listen to older "real" emo cds, and they do fit. Screamo is still a genre under "Emo". Cursive I don't know where you can put them. P.S. Emo was a sound, not just about lost girl stories, get dashboard out of your head.

By the way, props for the fight club sn.

i think Jimmy Eat World, Saves the Day, Jawbreaker, Sunny Day Real Estate and a few others probably deserve the vote more, but i chose TBS just cause they're my jam. sorry.

Or how about instead of jumping on the "i LuV BaNdZ thAt BroKE up" wagon, support Billy Werner's current project; Hot Cross. It's no Saetia, but whatever. The man rules.
