Fan Reports In: "Alkaline Trio (www.alkalinetrio.com) was in Covington, KY the other night on their short tour of the midwest. The opening band Colossal were decent and Mike Park played a very good set featuring a DVD promoting his organization Plea for Peace. Alkaline Trio put on an amazing show that featured songs from the new album and a lot of classics. They also played a few songs that were on comps that aren't played very often. The setlist was this (but not in this order): "Clavicle", "Radio", "Time to Waste", "Jaked on Green Beers", "Warbrain", "Private Eye", "You're Dead", "Crawl", "Emma", "All on Black", "This Could Be Love", "The Poison", "Mercy Me". They came out and played an encore that featured "My Friend Peter" (because Peter was there) and "Sorry About That." I found it very suprising that they didn't play "We've Had Enough" and "97" but it was a great show nonetheless."

In all honesty, thats a pretty sucky setlist. I really hope their Reading/Leeds is more like Warped 04 and Halloween DVD.

Mr. Chainsaw is one of my favorite songs. Off what seems to be a very underrated album.

No "Stupid Kid" either? I can't wait to see these guys in June.

Gahhh...I think the Halloween DVD setlist is one of the best they've done...when they were on Vagrant Tour supporting "Good Mourning", it was mostly stuff off that album...kind of weak.

Fuck. I'm missing them when they come down here. I'm about midway through my cruise in Alaska when they hit Fort Lauderdale.

I thought the show was great just because they always put on a very good live show and they're my favorite band. I was happy to hear "Clavicle" because it is my favorite song by them but I felt that they didn't play their best songs. It was nice to hear "Jaked on Green Beers" and stuff that they'll probably never play in a live show again but the setlist could have been much better like the Halloween one. I was glad however that they didn't play every song off of Crimson because I saw them right after Good Mourning came out and they played just about every song from it and really only played "97" and "Radio" as far as old songs went. I was also suprised that "Radio" came in the middle of the set. Hopefully they add an Ohio or Kentucky date to their summer tour so I won't have to drive so far.

its kinda bizarre that theyre playing "jaked," on the dvd commentary dan gave the impression that it was too hard for him to play live or something

I just wanted to add that the Madison Theater in Covington, KY might be the worst venue I've ever been to. It is set up very poorly in my venue and if you have the option I suggest you go somewhere else.

mr. chainsaw and crawl are two of my favorite alk3 songs. 'infirmary' is their best album in my opinion.

I don't see anything on that setlist that is all that rare in all honesty.
