The trials and tribulations of being a trashy celebrity! Feedback will be much appreciated.

In the Media

Verse1
Today I'll be a man
Tomorrow be a woman
And the next day
I think I'll have an affair
Oh, today I'll do some scandals
Tomorrow do some drugs
And go to rehab
Even though I don't care

Bridge
Because my whole life's on TV
'Cause everyone cares so much about me!

Chorus
In the media!
I'll be who I please!
In the media!
Get on your knees!
For the media!
Give up your dreams!
In the media!
In the media!

Verse2
Today I'll tell a lie
It's what I do best
As for tomorrow
I'll pretend to tell the truth
Oh, today I'm feeling proud
Tomorrow I'll start a trend
And the next day
I'll brainwash the youth

Bridge
Because my whole life's bought for free
'Cause everyone cares so much about me!

Chorus
In the media!
I'll be who I please!
In the media!
Get on your knees!
For the media!
Give up your dreams!
In the media!
In the media!

I'm thinking a third verse will be added as it feels incomplete....anyone agree?

You chose the wrong route with this... it seems as if you're trying to add loads of meaning to something which, if I'm honest, is about as deep as a puddle. With a subject like this, it's so much easier to go down the obvious road, but try and stray from that, which might create some intrigue in the reader's mind.

I agree with what Lew said, this lacks any sort of depth and is way too direct. If you're trying to write about the media's effect on people, be more creative about it. It's the same sort of thing when people write about consumerism or politics, if you're too direct about it it ends up sounding like a lame, horrible punk song.

I'm sorry man, but that's what my most recent shit is...lame, horrible punk songs... I gotta say, I like it.

Give it a year and you'll cringe at it.
