I don't really want to say, "What's the best Anberlin album?", because I think a lot of people would agree that Cities is probably their biggest accomplishment and feels fuller and flows better than their other albums. I want to know what your favorite Anberlin album is, which one you connect with the most, which one you find yourself coming back to the most, which one impacted you the most, etc.

Personally:
Cities > NTFP > Blueprints = New Surrender

NTFP>Cities>New Surrender>Blueprints

For me, NTFP is an album I still pop in at least 3 times a week. No song, has gotten old, and is filler free.
And, by no means are any other Anberlin albums bad, as they are one of my favorite bands, and each album has a place in my favorite albums list.

cities is when their songwriting hit its peak. i also love new surrender and ntfp an i would say they are equal. blueprints is good, but the album has a few songs that just arent as good as other things they have written.

For most bands I could do this, but not for Anberlin. TIE.

They've been writing awesome songs since the very beginning. I honestly love all of their albums equally.

I think that the two most diverse albums are Blueprints and New Surrender. I think that says something about them creatively. While they certainly have that Anberlin feel that we know and love, they aren't your typical band that is only good at one sound.

cities.

all their records are top-notch, but they just out-did themselves (and their peers) on that record.

Cities...and then NTFP coming in after. I didn't really like New Surrender. I gave it 2 listens and there were only a few 'stand-out' tracks for me. Even though NTFP first got me into them (which was a great album), I was so intrigued and impressed by Cities, I listened to it so much and still spin it today. I thought they could've gone somewhere else with NS, it seems like they kind of rushed into it with the new label and everything. But I'm glad they attracted all these new fans with the album.

there are a lot of songs on there that totally sum up where my life was at the first time i listened to it. cities is the one i connect most with now. although, after several listens to new surrender i can say that i love that one too

NTFP will probably never get old for me and it's probably my favorite.

Cities is a staple of it's genre; love that album.
Blueprints was a bit lost on me, but i listen to some of it.
New Surrender is a good effort and hearing it live made me appreciate it a lot more musically.
I have to say that Lost Songs receives as much rotation as a regular LP on my playlist.

Cities>NTFP>blueprints>New Surrender

I loved cities so much. I don't know how humans could write an album as good as that, but Anberlin pulled it off. And am I the only one who hated New Surrender? there are like 3 or 4 good songs but the rest of that album is crap.

NTFP > Cities > New Surrender > Blueprints

I LOVE Cities and musically, its probably my favorite but for sentimental reasons NTFP will always be tops.

For me it's a tie between Cities and Never Take Friendship Personal. I just got in Anberlin recently and got Cities first. It became a favorite quickly. But then I got Never Take Friendship Personal and, well, I can't decide which is better. Never Take Friendship Personal has some really great tracks on it, one being my favorite track from Anberlin. If I listen to them back to back to compare I can't decide which is better. I only know that both are great albums.

The way I see it is that NTFP is their most consistently good album and then with Cities the good songs on it are Anberlin's best songs, but the bad songs on it are really really bad.

I LOVE Anberlin, New surrender was hit and miss for me though. Alot of it seemed kinda bland, and I thought Haight St was awful. Miserabile Visu has gotta be in their top 2 or 3 songs though.

Really? You hated Haight Street? That was my favorite on the album and Mis Visu was one of my least favorite. Hmmm.

That's just my opinion. It just seemed SO cheezy to me. Like the lyrics came across as really generic and adolescent, for example the oh-so repetitive chorus. And the music was super poppy and much less creative then they are capable of being.

Oh, it's all good. To me, Mis Visu tried too hard to be "(*Fin)." It was an attempt to recreate how epic that album was. Again, IMO.

I could see that, although I thought thet were pretty successful. It didn't particularly sound like rip off. I left room for Fin in that top song list though.

I voted Cities .. but I really like New Surrender. As someone in the previous comments said, they may be rushed a bit too much with the new label, but its really good at the end. Just ... I don't know.. All of the albums rule! :-p

As you said everybody has own opinion... Anyway I like almost all of the songs from New Surrender... May be ''The Resistance'' the most also ''Breaking'',''Dissapear'' aswell ... all of them are cool... xD

Cities. It doesn't have a bad song on it, imo. Some aren't as good as the others, but I think every song on that album has been my favorite at one point.

Really suprised about everyone shitting all over Blueprints... Naive Orleans, Autobhan, glass to the arson, cadence, and Readyfuels are fucking awesome songs.

IMO BP>NTFP>Cities>>>>>>>>>New Surrender. But even New Surrender is still good.

Blueprints is good, but saying it's their best is a pretty big stretch.

Also, crazy results: Cities and NTFP are tied, Blueprints and New Surrender are tied.

For some reason this is soooo hard. Anberlin isn't even my number #1 favorite band (they're up there though). Like for me they're all so different and depending on my mood or what I need at the moment is the one I listen to so I guess I'll just explain how I feel about them all. Blueprints=Youth, fun, and love (probably some of my favorite lyrics) NTFP=hit after hit for me, when I need a little classic anberlin Cities=when I'm feeling down or dark NS=renewed hope, and when I need something a little softer.

They're all fantastic!!!

Cities. That record was one of the ones I turned to while I was in a pretty shitty mindset for most of last year. It will hold a very special place in my heart for a very long time.

From there, New Surrender and Never Take Friendship Personal tie. Both are amazing and I pop each one in pretty regularly. While I like Blueprints For The Black Market, I've never listened to it as much as I have the rest of Anberlin's non-compilation albums. And although this wasn't included in the poll, I rarely listen to Lost Songs straight through anymore, although I did quite a bit when I first got it.
