View Full Version : Halifax Injury At Bamboozle

Brandon Herbel
05/02/05, 02:38 PM
During the first song of Halifax's (http://www.halifaxrock.com) set at Bamboozle, Adam (guitar) hit his head on the truss on the stage ceiling, due to the stage ceiling being only partially elevated and therefore being too low. He played out the shortened set while bleeding profusely during the entire set. After the set he was taken to the emergency room to get 18 staples in his head to stop the bleeding and assist in the healing of the wound. Pictures are up on the Halifax site right here (http://www.halifaxrock.com/photogallery/PhotoGallery.aspx?gid=36)

sorry to hear about the injury, but this is what i love to hear; bands roughing it out and rocking the fuck out of their music, not letting anything get in the way. even though their music might not be, that is punk rock.

its gonna make it a bitch next sunday when he to go thru the metal detectors at the airport to start the european tour. they gave us a sterile staple remover to use to take them out in 7 to 10 days. so hopefully we can get it done professionally the morning of the day they leave to the dtr european tour, otherwise its being done on the tour bus somewhere in england by someone else in halifax...

while we were at the emergency room there were like a dozen kids from bamboozle there with misc injuries.

Not to sound selfish, but I hope this doesn't affect their UK tour prospects.

Note to band members: It's ok to stop playing when you are bleeding profusely from the head. We won't think you're a wimp.

I have some pictures from yesterday during the set. The side view is almost as bad as the top view, I'd have to say. =/

yea but if they stopped it would of thrown off the schedule for the day......

i would've kept playing too...just to maintain that hardcore guitarist image. in fact, i would probably do some headspins and stagedives...get the whole crowd bloody with me.

you know, because that wasn't already happening or anything. hahah
[edit]: (rereading that i'm assuming that was a joke about the set times being thrown off, sorry)

damn, poor guy. that looks fucking painful, and the thought of taking those staples out really doesn't sound pleasant.

Oh man this set was amazing regardless. With the singer trying to play bass, switching up the set list halfway through, calling shinanogans on the fill in bass for not really playing, playing a new song and thinking they still had time to play another song when the next bands started. This was easily one of the funniest, and memorable sets i have watched.
