Drive-Thru Records (www.drivethrurecords.com)' recording artist Halifax (www.halifaxrock.com) spent April in the studio with Lou Giordano (Goo Goo Dolls, Taking Back Sunday, Sunny Day Real Estate) laying tracks for their forthcoming full-length debut. The album titled The Inevitably Of A Strange World is slated for release in September of this year.

Working with Giordano has been a purely positive and amazing experience for the band. Mike Hunau, lead singer for Halifax says, "Lou is the perfect producer, especially for first timers like us. He really works with you and makes it a team effort. He totally gets it." The new album includes upbeat songs and ballads featuring Halifax's signature hooks and sing along choruses. Of The Inevitably Of A Strange World, Hunau says, "it's the best thing Iıve ever done."

In early 2004 Halifax released the EP, A Writer's Reference on No Milk Records (www.nomilkrecords.com). After signing with Drive-Thru later that year, the label re-mastered and re-released the EP with new artwork and a bonus track. As described by Outburn Magazine, the EP "throbs with urgency and melodics catchier than germs from a baby." A Writer's Reference has sold about 10K copies to date. Halifax were one of the Alternative Press Magazine's "100 Bands You Need To Know In 2005" and topped AP's "Readerıs Chart" at number one in the April issue.

What does the summer have in store for Halifax? No rest, that's for sure! The band is joining label-mates Hidden In Plain View, Allister, and I Am The Avalanche on the Drive-Thru UK Invasion tour during the month of May, then itıs back to the states for 17 dates with From First To Last, a quick headlining tour, and July will be spent on the Warped Tour.

Halifax features Mike Hunau on vocals, Chris Brandt on guitars and backing vocals, Adam Trabbish on guitar, and Tommy Guindon on drums.

Alex Lewis isn't in the band.

Mike is playing bass on the album, but not live, as someone mentioned the live bassist is Rob.

Their demos are amazing, as is the cover of Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" for the Punk Goes 80s compilation.

these guys are awesome but i would expect more than 10k cd's to be sold at this point....

to compare them to a former Drive thru act with an EP ...how quick did the Senses Fail EP sell?

i know it has sold over 200k to date, but how quickly did it sell.

is drive thru not pushing bands as hard or at least as fast as they used to? or is it due to the fact that they are not backed by a major anymore. does anyone have an opinion on that? I heard that drive thru regretted pushing SF so hard at first by putting them on the road with FINCH as their first tour and shit , because it all went to their heads and they became real cocky..

so maybe in the long run it's best to build the bands career slowly...

wow

Yeah, not to nitpick but it's because the cd is actually called "The Inevitability of a Strange World" not Inevitably.
